Love the art on the wall made by the railing shadows!
Posted by: Susan at March 4, 2010 10:04 AM
LOVE the pictures! Can never have too many kitty pictures...especially with a new camera that takes awesome pictures.
Posted by: Angela Lillie at March 4, 2010 10:11 AM
oh, Frankie -- wouldn't it be nice if there was a glass of water or ball of yarn on that ledge?
Posted by: JIW at March 4, 2010 10:12 AM
There was a little planter of kittygrass but she knocked it over. Frankie is forever knocking things over by "loving" them to death. She doesn't realize that if you face-rub against small items they tip over.

That spot is begging for a hand knit cat cushion.

Isn't she pretty! I didn't realize she had side stripes and a white bib. She is very decorative in that niche and has a good view of the kingdom. Isn't that what a sirens of old did -- perch high on a hill and lure sailors to their doom? I think she could cause a bit of doom from there if she tried.
Posted by: Martha in Kansas at March 4, 2010 10:35 AM
Is anyone from Waterford, or Lalique, or Limoges taking notes?
Posted by: Sascha at March 4, 2010 10:37 AM
That niche is perfectly decorated. Bravo on your daring design choice.
Posted by: rb at March 4, 2010 10:45 AM
She is SUCH a beauty!!!
Posted by: Lucy in UK at March 4, 2010 10:46 AM
Both Frankie and your new home are lovely!
Posted by: Liz R at March 4, 2010 10:47 AM
Are these taken with your new camera? If so it was a good investment, these pictures are lovely.
Posted by: The Maiden Metallurgist at March 4, 2010 10:49 AM
Wow! You are certainly putting that new camera to good use!! But when you have such a beautiful subject, it would be a waste NOT to use it!
You, the artiste, ROCK!!
Posted by: mctwin at March 4, 2010 10:50 AM
Awwwwwwwwww!
Posted by: ErinLindsey at March 4, 2010 10:53 AM
Le kittycat vase: Not a toy. For decorative use only. Not for use with or near water. Any flowers placed in or near the vase will be summarily destroyed. Do not allow near young children as there is a chance of suffocation. For best presentation le kittycat vases should not be grouped but displayed singly. Thank you for your purchase and please enjoy the use of your new vase.

These are lovely pictures!! :)

Such a booteeful keekat. She reminds me of my dearly departed Chelsea.
Posted by: Diane at March 4, 2010 11:23 AM
She is the prettiest girl cat in the world!
(I can say that because I have boy cats who are the most handsome cats in the world)
Blanche, brilliant! LOL

Posted by: Laurie at March 4, 2010 11:58 AM
Frankie is so adorable! If I knew how to copy pictures into this comment space I'd send you pictures of my cats.
Posted by: Marie at March 4, 2010 11:59 AM
OK. Refresh my memory. What kind of camera is that again? It takes awesome photos. (But of course with such a subject who could not take amazing photos?)
Posted by: Sandy at March 4, 2010 12:12 PM
Aw! So purrty. Love the Frankster.
Posted by: Jen at March 4, 2010 12:15 PM
Much better than any static vase or piece of artwork! Frankie definitely is a decorative cat.
Posted by: Rosemary at March 4, 2010 12:25 PM
You should enter that first one in a photo contest -- splendid composition! Of course it helps to have a good model.
Posted by: Lucia at March 4, 2010 12:32 PM
A timeless, classic home accessory! Every home should have one.
Posted by: Julia O'C at March 4, 2010 12:34 PM
Seriously too cute. Love the tongue in photo number 4. It looks like that little niche was built into the wall for the express purpose of accommodating your feline photo shoots.
Posted by: Debbie S. at March 4, 2010 12:34 PM
Very cute and I think the perfect deco for your niche. It is one of a kind and absolutely purrrfect.
Posted by: Rebecca at March 4, 2010 12:51 PM
Frankie you are beautimous!
Posted by: Claudia at March 4, 2010 12:53 PM
A trompe l'oeil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trompe-l%27%C5%93il) vase "resting on" a handknit cushion would be perfect! Now don't ask me how to pronounce that or find an artist to paint it for you! Pretty Frankie!
Posted by: auntiemichal at March 4, 2010 12:55 PM
How cute!!!!
Posted by: Jo Anne at March 4, 2010 12:57 PM
Cat is sweet, but I am more excited by the shadows on the wall from your staircase. Wow!
Posted by: Diane at March 4, 2010 12:57 PM
Beautiful! Then again, Frankie already knows that, right?
Posted by: Amy at March 4, 2010 01:02 PM
A pretty kitty like that certainly qualifies as art!
Posted by: Norma at March 4, 2010 01:50 PM
Perfect place for a kittycat vase!! Stunning vase and staircase. They go well together. ;)
Posted by: Leeny at March 4, 2010 01:56 PM
It's like I've never seen these cats before -- that's how much sharper these images are! Love your new camera -- thanks for buying it for us! :-)
Posted by: jenny at March 4, 2010 01:57 PM
Frankie looks very decorative there. Has she figured out that it could also be a good spot for an ambush?
Posted by: Northmoon at March 4, 2010 01:57 PM
Wow! It's a St. Frankie church-wall niche! Great statue. And so lifelike! I'm with those who love the shadows. Reminds me of the wrought iron in the Caillabotte painting, "the Floor-Scrapers."
Posted by: Dana at March 4, 2010 02:02 PM
Very lovely photos! Very artistic.
Posted by: Orghlaith at March 4, 2010 02:08 PM
That is so "cat like" to find a little ledge and hang out there for awhile, catch our attention and let us coo over it. Very cute.
Posted by: Rhonda at March 4, 2010 02:13 PM
Best. Vase. Ever.
Posted by: Jennifer M. at March 4, 2010 02:20 PM
I totally covet that staircase with the niches in the wall and the banister shadows. Never mind that my knees are rotten and staircases out of the question -- I could live on the first floor and let the cats have the run of the stairs and the second floor. I don't have to covet your cat because I have two of my own... and they would totally love such a bookcase/niche arrangement as well.
GREAT photos! I agree with those who have said there can never be too many cat pix. ;)
Posted by: Jan at March 4, 2010 02:31 PM
Frankie is gorgeous! And she looks so sweet too!
Posted by: Gretchen at March 4, 2010 02:34 PM
I second (or third) that I'm so glad you got a new camera. It's like a little gift to all of your readers.
Posted by: Amy in StL at March 4, 2010 02:56 PM

Oh what a gorgeous Frankie girl!
Posted by: Kere at March 4, 2010 05:01 PM
Beautiful pictures, beautiful kitty. So that's what you're supposed to put in those odd niches in the walls.
I especially like the first pictures, with the soft colors, except Frankie, and all the textures and shadows. Wonderful!
Posted by: Maureen J at March 4, 2010 05:12 PM
What a beautiful Kitty!
Posted by: Julie at March 4, 2010 05:54 PM

Posted by: Jena at March 4, 2010 08:58 PM
there is no accessory better suited to that nook.
Posted by: Laurie at March 4, 2010 10:48 PM
That Frankie is so striking!
Posted by: Rebecca at March 4, 2010 11:45 PM
Laurie, could you use museum putty to secure the tippables? If you haven't used it already, it's what museums use to keep their valuables from knocking over. It comes in various forms: putty, wax, and gel, and it doesn't stain, and can be easily removed. Some places now sell it as "earthquake putty". And it's good for putting a dab in the inside of candlesticks to keep candles from tipping over!
Being earthquake-proof won't necessarily make it cat-proof, but it might help.

Your stairs are so beautiful. I'm picturing you dancing down them every morning, Ginger Rogers style, towards an audience of aloof felines.
Posted by: Siún at March 5, 2010 05:11 AM
This just made my day! Frankie is adorable and SO photogenic!!!!
Posted by: Cathy in Wisconsin at March 5, 2010 06:00 AM
