The Reincarnationist finds new life... in paperback

You have no idea how much I amused myself with that little title!

So last fall I got the chance to have dinner with M.J. Rose and quiz her endlessly about one of her books that I'd just read, The Reincarnationist. You can read that interview here and it includes a slightly tipsy picture of me showing way too much cleavage.

Now the book is out in paperback and two lucky duck readers will each receive a copy! Post something to let me know to put your name in the hat and I'll choose two winners at random. Enjoy!!!

Loved your interview when you posted it and the book has intrigued me. I obey Sobakowa and report in to CAP daily. Would really enjoy a new read and a break from trying to knit jack o' lantern hats(with mohawk fringe!) for Halloween for my boys.

Oh I'd love to have the book! Just as much as everyone else who will enter! lol I live with two cats, one dog and one Quaker parrot. I visit your site every day to see what your cats have been in to. Mine, especially with a dog and parrot in the mix, do some crazy things! :-)

Whether I win or not ... I love your blog! Thanks for the smiles you give me. :-)

Oooo, another book giveaway. You are so giving! And that wasn't too much cleavage, it was just enough.

BTW, I posted another quick soup recipe today. Gotta keep you on that cooking kick you're on.

Posted by: Annette at September 30, 2008 08:59 AM

Hi Laurie. I'd love a chance to win the book, if you don't mind sending it all the way to Canada. I just finished reading Garden Spells, which you had advertised on your site awhile ago, and loved it.

Posted by: Lorraine at September 30, 2008 09:00 AM

I love reading so much that I got my Master's degree in it. Now I work for Chamber of Commerce, but ohwell. I got credit for reading. And besides, MJ has the same color of hair as I do. And I wish I had your cleavage!
Which reminds me of a story: back in high school, a few of us went prom dress shopping with a girlfriend's mom. That girl had even smaller cup size than me (amazing in itself), and, well, too much booze since then, but long story short, she had to ask what cleave was, and when her mom said "the space between your boobs" she said, "well I have tons of it!" She meant space, but said she had tons of cleavage. Good laugh.
Anyhow, I'd love to get an exciting book in the mail! Have a great day.

I put that book on my Amazon wish list back when you posted the interview. Sadly, it's still lingering there in the list because cats need food and fancy litter in the litter box more than I needed a new book.

Posted by: Carol at September 30, 2008 09:29 AM

I rarely win anything - but it's worth a try! I love finding new books to indulge in!

Posted by: Julianne at September 30, 2008 09:29 AM

I went back and read your interview, which I'd missed the first time (totally can resonate with the childhood head-in-a-book but can't remember where I left my glasses... also the pie-pan-shallow thing cracked me up!).

So I'd love to throw my name in the hat! Sounds like a great book, and more to come.

I have heard so many things about this book.

Funny story about your book (happened months ago just finally got up the courage)- I was in the bookstore on line to pay and the guy behind me, who was way creepy looking kept getting closer and closer to me so I of course kept moving away. When I could no longer move forward he read your title out loud (it was on top) looked at me and asked if I was going through a divorce. I said no never turning to face him. he asked why was I reading it. Then the guy at the register who saw what was going on told him to stop harassing the customer and called me forward. I said thank you as I put my books on the counter and the check out guy said nice and loud some people just do not get a hint. I burst out laughing.

Loved the book by the way

Hi Laurie,
I would love to have my name put in the hat for this book. It sounds amazing! I remember having vivid dreams as a very young child of violent experiences that I know I never experienced or witnessed (at least not in this life). I've always been curious about reincarnation although my religion dismisses it. I'm hungry to know more (and just plain hungry)!

Obviously I don't need a new book on reincarnation since I live it three times a year in our backyard. But it sure sounds like an awesome read! Thanks for all the fun, Laurie, you are a great read yourself.

I'm so glad you referenced that earlier post! It was a great read (I wasn't a regular reader back when it was originally posted) and now I feel that much more kindred for our similar childhood relationships to books! I'd love to be in the drawing, it looks like a just the book I've been needing. Thanks for being awesome and blogging awesomely.

It has become a very important book for me, and I am so so so grateful that the universe sent me to One Hour Craft who then linked me up to your very fabulous blog, which then led to my wanting more more more of your very witty, warm, and honest writing style. I am sending loving, grateful, happy thoughts your way!

Why, dearie! I was your Jewish Bubbeh in a former life...let's see, 15th century Spain, perhaps? So I would be delighted to be in your drawing, one can never read too much (besides which, I have an unapologetic severe addiction for books.......)

I'd love to read that book. Please pick me!! Although, I'm near the end of the comments and that never works out well for random draws. So I'll just say a quick 'hi' from chilly 'would love one of your scarfs' Canada.
