I don't know, we'd probably start searching for dark, secluded nooks where we could curl up and be invisible.

I bow before the Soba, or should I say Bastet?
Posted by: Lucia at August 26, 2008 07:49 AM
oh goodness, Soba has the Sun at her beck and call now!!!!!
Posted by: nifer at August 26, 2008 08:06 AM
Beautiful!
Posted by: Liz R at August 26, 2008 08:51 AM
And, was there ever any doubt that Soba would be graced with a Halo? All your kitties are angels!
Posted by: Toni at August 26, 2008 08:52 AM
Don't all cats have halos? Or at least they believe they should.
Posted by: ToniC at August 26, 2008 09:07 AM
Soba-wonderful!
Posted by: Marlene at August 26, 2008 09:32 AM
Isn't she lovely! She looks like an owl. Share with us your wisdom, O wise one!
Posted by: jules at August 26, 2008 09:40 AM
Does a chorus of angels follow her around as well? :)
Posted by: Shea at August 26, 2008 09:42 AM
Of course all kitties have halos of light, because they are all angels, sent to make our lives wonderful!!!

Jena, Amen Sister! I don't know where I'd be without my two sweethearts (shh, don't tell my husband -- or my dog!)
Posted by: JoP at August 26, 2008 09:52 AM
She is SO pretty . . . :-)

Wow! Soba has something wondrous going on with her aura of light. She sure lights up the world:)
Posted by: Chris at August 26, 2008 10:38 AM
That's what highlights are for, no?
I just adopted 2 kitties this past weekend and can't beleive I lived without them! They still haven't told me their names yet, but I have my suspicions. The littlest one is slightly asthmatic, so your blog archives have been useful.

All she needs is a crown and sceptre

Soba looks fabulous. Reminds me of a story. I was the MOH in a wedding and the groom's sister was a model. She kept telling the wedding party, "Girls, always make sure you have your picture taken with backlighting."
Then the b*tch wore a see-through white sequined dress to the reception and kept walking past the sunlit windows.
Posted by: Maureen at August 26, 2008 10:57 AM
She wore a white dress to a wedding reception, and she wasn't the bride?
Now, that's just downright tacky.

Living proof that there is still a cat goddess.Soba must be communicating with her

Sorry, commenting on the Tahoe entry here.
But as I was reading, I kept thinking while you were taking "the interesting route" to Tahoe, that you would tell us you accidently ended up at Burning Man. Almost akin to the episode of Malcolm in the Middle, CAP ends up at BM, where she finds lots of art, interesting conversation and a place to wear all her knitted goods (it gets verrrry cold at night sometimes).
Burning Man isn't quite another country, but some people think it's out of this world :)

I love her "I cannot WAIT for world domination" look.

Soba...the queen and master of ALL she beholds!!

re: halo of light.
In my opinion, you already are.
Posted by: sheila at August 26, 2008 01:15 PM
I hear angels singing....

Thank goodness I have some news for my kids. I am continually harrassed about that 'cat who is going to rule the world'!
When they wake up tomorrow I can finally tell them that Soba will be running a solar-powered domination campaign ;-)

Good lord, I have a cat who gets that very same look on HIS face.
Thank God he's too stupid for any kind of world domination. He only dominates the food bowl.

Torties rule, it's that simple. Not that they would ever let us forget, anyway...

Alll hail Soba-Bastet!
I missed the opportunity to comment on your map adventure before the comments closed. Props to you on going old-school, even if you once in awhile end up in a choocolate factory, or Sweden, or, as I once did, almost on the North Carolina coast because I missed the exit I needed outside of Asheville.
To each their own. GPS is great for people who can't be late for a meeting in a strange city but for travel I love curling up with a map to find my way, especially with the knowledge that I can take the blue highways if I want to.

Just proves the belief in *this* house: Bastet reigns, and her High Priestesses can be recognized! (Ask Evangeline - who, by the way, came up next to me and did that long, bowing, worshipful stretch toward the screen as I found the picture of Her Holiness Soba). I knows 'em when I sees 'em. (and that should be framed, Laurie - for your office, and one at home too).

ahhh Kitty. You always brighten my day. Have you ever checked out icanhascheezburger.com for a funny cat fix? I think of your crew whenever I peek over there.

She does look very focused.

Sorry I missed the Tahoe blog, too.
Laurie, you obviously weren't lost; your CLR (Chocolate Locating Radar) was working perfectly!

Can't wait to have this photo on the wall for our next "Commander in Chief" - All Hail Sobakowa!
