Ohhhh such a face! I can almost hear the purring!

Posted by: Susan at March 27, 2008 11:06 AM

What a sweet face!! You take some awesome photos.

Posted by: Liz R at March 27, 2008 11:08 AM

What a cutie. Must find a cat now to hug.

Posted by: nifer at March 27, 2008 11:10 AM

so cute! do you ever go on thecatsite.com? its a great site for fellow kitty addicts like ourselves ^.^

Posted by: courtney at March 27, 2008 11:11 AM

Laurie . . thank you so much for sharing your lovely feline friends with all of us. Would I be out of line for requesting a retrospective of Sir Roy? I have photos of my fur-persons that go back 20+ years, and they always give me a feeling of love and many smiles. Have you ever checked out the web site of Powell's Bookstores in Portland, OR? They carry the ongoing tale of their recently departed store cat, Fup, and the memories of her feline and canine companions, plus some great book reviews.

Posted by: audie at March 27, 2008 11:15 AM

"Cutiecat" is exactly right. Such a sweetheart!

Posted by: Anna-Liza at March 27, 2008 11:20 AM

I have to admit that I am a total sucker for Frankie. Bob is so cute and Soba is so deliciously wicked, but Frankie is my favorite.

Just don't tell Soba!!

Posted by: sadie6 at March 27, 2008 11:22 AM

There's nothing that a purr can't cure!

Posted by: Justin at March 27, 2008 11:22 AM

Awww!!!! sigh (with much love) :)

Posted by: Leeny at March 27, 2008 11:26 AM

As a mathematician, I have to admire the 50/50 symmetry of that face. Nature doesn't often make straight lines.

Posted by: rb at March 27, 2008 11:27 AM

The half-n-half face gets me everytime...gorgeous!!!

Posted by: aileen at March 27, 2008 11:28 AM

Awwww. Frank Gorshin would be so jealous.

Posted by: Lucia at March 27, 2008 11:34 AM

Now that's a sweet face! And I'd love to see the rest of that blanket that's in the background. It's crocheted...could it be a Drew creation?

Posted by: Nancy Knits at March 27, 2008 11:39 AM

That is by far the most interesting cat face, EVER. Even her ears are two-tone!

Posted by: kit at March 27, 2008 11:41 AM

What a great photo!!!

Posted by: Carol M at March 27, 2008 11:56 AM

I love the ears!

Frankie is cuter than Hello Kitty.

Posted by: ErinLindsey at March 27, 2008 12:02 PM

Love the nose freckles!
What pretty green eyes.

Posted by: Grace at March 27, 2008 12:06 PM

I love torties and Frankie is one of my favorites ever. Her face is amazing.

Posted by: Sarah at March 27, 2008 12:08 PM

Frankie Fancy-face!

Posted by: Grace at March 27, 2008 12:11 PM

Had to come back and look at that face again. I love her ear hair tufts. My cat has ear hair tufts. :)

Posted by: Leeny at March 27, 2008 12:14 PM

What a cutiecat. My girl kitty has a line down the middle of her nose just like that.

Posted by: tami at March 27, 2008 12:17 PM

Seriously the prettiest cat ever. Frankie's coloring is just gorgeous.

Posted by: Jennifer at March 27, 2008 12:24 PM

I came back for another look, and I detect the presence of crochet. Is that yours? I'm bisticksual myself.

Posted by: Lucia at March 27, 2008 12:47 PM

Sooo cute! Make sure and give some ear scritches for me!

Posted by: Amy in StL at March 27, 2008 12:54 PM

Cutie? Frankie is gorgeous! I love to read all about your life and everyday stuff, but your post just makes my day if you have a cat photo. I don't care if it has anything to do with your post or not, it just puts a smile on my face.

Posted by: Lynette at March 27, 2008 12:56 PM

Awwww!

Posted by: Amy at March 27, 2008 01:13 PM

What a poser!!!! Great photo :-)

Posted by: maryannlucy at March 27, 2008 01:39 PM

I wuv her little nose freckles the BEST.

Posted by: Meredith at March 27, 2008 01:41 PM

What a calendar-cutie-cat. You are quite the photographer as well!!

Posted by: cecelia at March 27, 2008 01:49 PM

awwwwwwwwww!

she also looked very comfortable on the new coffee table in yesterday's post.

the evil soba must be getting VERY annoyed - first bob, now frankie....you must appease the evil one!

Posted by: anne marie in philly at March 27, 2008 02:57 PM

Now see -- I'm about chins. That chin wants little rubbings and smoochings, what can I say? Is that your new camera? These are top-drawer pix, without a doubt. Besides which, Franklin just has such a perfect face....Thanks for these.

Posted by: dale-harriet in WI at March 27, 2008 03:06 PM

Great picture of Frankie! I second the request for a closer look at the afghan behind him, though!

Posted by: Melody at March 27, 2008 03:29 PM

You have the best cat pictures! You know that don't you.

Posted by: Robin at March 27, 2008 03:40 PM

My own Frankie went by various names, from Franklin to Frankenstein! Love your Frankie!

Posted by: Kay T at March 27, 2008 03:52 PM

Love the two little black freckles on the pink side of Frankie's nose.

Posted by: Debbie at March 27, 2008 04:13 PM

Yin Yang, Baby, Yin Yang. Gotta' love that face!

Posted by: Carol 2 at March 27, 2008 04:58 PM

Wasn't there a batman villain named Two-Face? With half his face one color and half his face another? Now I'm not saying Frankie's a villain, I'm just sayin'. :)

Posted by: Shea at March 27, 2008 05:08 PM

Hi Laurie! I love this picture of Frankie. I emailed you two .wmv files of Frankie 'talking'. (It's what I do for a living when not reading your blog!) Please enjoy them.

Posted by: Marlene at March 27, 2008 05:27 PM

So who's on the coffee table? I can't believe it's unoccupied.

Posted by: Robin C. at March 27, 2008 05:45 PM

So very, very Cute!

Posted by: Poppy at March 27, 2008 06:54 PM

I particularly enjoy the teeny tufts at the tops of her ears.

Posted by: Cheree at March 27, 2008 08:15 PM

Wow, great photo of a very photogenic puss! The first reaction is "Awwww", and then a second look reveals the neatly bisected face and the blocks of crocheted color in the background that are oh so nearly lined up with that line down her face. Nice job!

Posted by: sheila at March 27, 2008 08:50 PM

Now I'm going to have to get out my electric cat that purrs when I pet it. Not nearly as cute as Frankie but it's all I've got.
.

Posted by: The Other Ruth at March 27, 2008 10:26 PM

what a beautiful baby

Posted by: eh at March 28, 2008 12:21 AM

Wow. All your cats are so amazingly beautiful and photoenic. Way to pick 'em! ;-)

Posted by: Lauren at March 28, 2008 05:26 AM

She is SOOOOOOOO beautiful!

What an awesome picture . . . . .

Posted by: Liz J from Central Illinois at March 28, 2008 05:31 AM

Well now that Frankie is a politician, he represents the two sides of politics.

The light airy everything is going to be OK side and the dark brooding this place is going to hell in a handbasket side.

So, no matter his mood, he's covered....;)

Posted by: Anonymous at March 28, 2008 08:16 AM

I agree with the mathematician about the gorgeous symmetry. And with the colors in the background -- seriously, Frankie belongs in Cat Fancy!

Posted by: ramona at March 28, 2008 09:32 AM

how do you get them to hold still for a picture? everytime a get my camera out, my cats stop doing what cuteness they are doing and rush toward the camera! Maybe because they are still teenagers.

Posted by: Valerie at March 28, 2008 11:34 AM

Your cats are adorable! They look so well-loved and happy - you're a good cat mom.

Posted by: kari at March 28, 2008 03:40 PM

That is one gorgeous cat!

Posted by: Amy in BC at March 28, 2008 06:01 PM

Gosh, CAP, I know Soba is the Great Leader, yet Frankie is such a beauty, one can't help but be drawn to her! I hope Soba doesn't get jealous! Bob is a lucky kitty, to live with TWO pretty kitties (and an awesome human, too)!

Posted by: Jenn with 2 Enns at March 28, 2008 06:21 PM

So Gorgeous!

I reread your book last week, and was really struck by the part where you and Frankie spent the first night in X's empty office when he moved out.

It was bad enough that he abandoned you; but hey, people have Issues. But to totally abandon that poor, uncomprehending creature who had bonded with him, without even a backward glance; THAT takes a truly heartless, soulless hunk of wasted protoplasm!

You, Frankie, and the whole gang aren't just doing well without him - you're thriving. And getting cool new furniture; and starring in some great photo layouts. LIFE IS GOOD - ENJOY IT - YOU ALL DESERVE IT!!

Posted by: boomette at March 28, 2008 06:34 PM

Such a little cutie! I have a tortie cat myself (but she has a lot of white as well) but Frankie seems to be a lot more calm and nice than my Josephine is. I love her, of course, but she can be a real pita sometimes.

Posted by: Älvan at March 29, 2008 04:32 AM

Laurie, I really want to know all about the awesome looking crocheted piece I see peaking from behind adorable Franklin Delano Cutiecat

Posted by: Angela at March 29, 2008 07:18 PM

Laurie, you've been somewhat "quiet" lately? Whatever "project" you are working on, I hope all goes well. :-)

Posted by: Judith B at March 29, 2008 10:26 PM

that is a great picture!

Posted by: suetreiber at March 30, 2008 11:23 AM

Wow, I am not a cat person but that is one cute kitty. All of your cats are so adorable.

Posted by: Rosie at March 30, 2008 04:53 PM

What a pretty face. You have such a great blog. I love to read.

Posted by: Theresa at March 30, 2008 05:45 PM

booteeful cat! reminds me of a star trek episode.

Posted by: barbara at March 30, 2008 06:31 PM

Such an ADORABLE face!!

Posted by: Jill S. at March 31, 2008 08:16 AM

can you send a pic of Frankie to Cute with Chris (dot com). People don't believe markings like hers are real.

Posted by: S at April 1, 2008 07:11 PM

I am reading up on your blog (I'm at dec. 2005 now) and am just wondering: how compolsary are you when it comes to CatPics?
Do you perhaps have a file with photo's and when you have used one on your blog you move it to another file (labelled 'used catpics' perhaps)? So as not to repeat a picture already used once.
I am really wondering... it would suit the image of you that is starting to form in my head... (you are by no means obliged to fit this image in real life, I'm just saying)

also.... I am afraid your weirdness/colourfullness is contagious...through these, the tubes of internet.

Posted by: Anna at April 3, 2008 05:43 AM

Is that a hexigon crochet afgan behind his head?? :)

Posted by: Lorie at April 3, 2008 08:32 AM

My cat has almost the same face!! Her name is Ruthie, but I often call wild-thing...

Posted by: Kelly at April 6, 2008 06:52 AM

And he is so named because of... his striking resemblance to our 30-something president? The one with the two-tone face?
