Good luck - you'll be great. PS You look fabulous!

Posted by: mrspao at January 18, 2008 09:11 AM

Have fun! Wish I could come hear you speak. Perhaps on your mid-Atlantic leg of the book tour?

Posted by: Mary in Virginia at January 18, 2008 09:21 AM

Laurie, when you were writing your book, did you have a clue how many 30-something, drunk, divorced, southern women covered in cat hair there are in the world?? Having previously been one myself, let me say on behalf of us all... THANK YOU! The book is a heartwarming hoot!

Posted by: Angel at January 18, 2008 09:23 AM

Thank you, Angel :)

And Mary this is the very last stop I think.

Posted by: laurie at January 18, 2008 09:31 AM

Good luck - you will do a fantastic job as always, I'm sure! Especially since you are rocking the new bangs...

Have a great weekend!

Posted by: aileen at January 18, 2008 09:53 AM

You'll do fine :)

BTW, I went to Barnes & Noble two days ago and wanted to use my coupon to purchase DD&CiCH -- they were out of stock! Isn't that wonderful? So I had them order it for me.

Awww, come on Laurie, are you sure you don't want to come to Ohio, more specifically Dayton. We have lots to offer. We have um, negative temperatures and ahhh, oh who am I kidding? We have negative temperatures and that's about it. This is why I'm not in PR.

Posted by: Heather at January 18, 2008 10:19 AM

I think you just want to show off the new bangs.

Posted by: Neil at January 18, 2008 10:47 AM

Oh man! I am coming to California tomorrow night. If this was on Sunday, I would totally drive up there and come meet you Laurie!! DANG IT.

At any rate - anyone have suggestions on what to do/eat in San Diego???

Posted by: Courtney at January 18, 2008 11:14 AM

Knock 'em dead, Purlie Girlie!

Posted by: Trixie at January 18, 2008 11:27 AM

Still no plans to come to Ohio?

dang

Posted by: Shari from OH at January 18, 2008 11:37 AM

I am very sad that I can't be there. . . it's a bit far to go for a book signing for me, since I'm on the east coast with Mary up there! (Hi, Mary!)

I was really counting on winning the contest so I could make it, but that didn't work out. Guess I'll have to try harder next time. ;-)

Posted by: Tara at January 18, 2008 12:01 PM

grandma will be there?!?!

Posted by: Nikki at January 18, 2008 12:08 PM

I dated a guy from Dayton Ohio once...

Posted by: Nikki at January 18, 2008 12:10 PM

Have fun! You look mahvelous, dahling.

Posted by: Lucia at January 18, 2008 12:18 PM

Posted by: suetreiber at January 18, 2008 01:36 PM

Wow, it makes me tear up that your Grandma will see you in action with your readers. What a gift for her...stay bundled up Grandma! Have an energizing afternoon.

I made a crock pot meal today - inspired by you. Yum!

I also endorse the bangs - they look great.

Hi Girl - it was so nice to see you - sorry it wasn't going well - you are even more darling in real life.
I had just come from a 2 hour orientation and just couldn't stay seated another minute, or I would have stayed to hear you.
Congrats on your book !

I just finished your book - it was funny as hell :-)
Put the crockpot recipe in the next one :-)

Beautiful needles, pretty yarn...and yummy scarf. Nice.

Posted by: Mrs MJW at January 21, 2008 09:55 AM

Catching up on yesterday's post...I love the mistake rib! I ended up doing 3 or 4 scarves in it for Christmas presents this year. And I love your wisps! Have fun today...

I wish I lived close enough to check out one of your signings/appearances. If you're ever in Atlanta, I hope to see you! I started learning knitting about 6 months ago. Lovin' it!

Posted by: Nelson at January 21, 2008 09:55 PM

I just wanted to tell you that I stumbled upon your site tonight and feel... comfortable here. Does that sound weird? Oh well. I am just glad to see someone that has gone through what I am with such great humor. I think your really funny and I'm going to buy your book tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Holly Owensby soon to be Holly Walker

Are you okay, sweetie?? What happened on Saturday? Did you hear that Heath Ledger died this afternoon??

Lots of hugs! ;o)

Posted by: Liz R at January 22, 2008 02:13 PM

what? is heath ledger really dead?

Posted by: Nikki at January 22, 2008 02:15 PM

I am not going to take offense at the fact that my name wasn't drawn, and I do hope you have a fab time with the contest winner, but it is not going to be the same making up my own prize basket and renting bright spotlights to pretend I'm in L.A. Poopies. Fact is, I really wanted to tell you in person that I ADORE your book and laughed like a crazy person all the way through. Thanks so much!

Hello--have been lurking awhile, and I live in Chicago. That being said, I was in Mission Viejo this past Saturday and my hubs mentioned he used to work at this Borders! We came by, but it was way too late. I am so bummed. I mean, the chances? The timing? And I was off by 3 measly hours. poo.
Hope you had fun!

Posted by: KellyS at January 22, 2008 05:48 PM

rest assured, ladies, the book signing event was FAB, from the perspective of everyone sitting, listening and laughing. laurie is even more engaging & friggin funny in person. i even SNARFed when laughing, to my embarrassment.

my guess, is she's taking a well deserved break for a day or three or four.

thanks for a great saturday. enjoy your week, and little break from the cyber world, laurie. we can wait for more fun to come.

Thanks for a great reading and for not making me feel like a complete dork for going to a book signing - I was so nervous, isn't that retarded? You were great, thank you!
