Photoshopping a hat on a cat is a whole lot easier than trying to put one on with your naked, vulnerable hands, right? Great picture, though. Merry Christmas, Laurie--just finished your book and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for bringing some laughter to a rather harried last-few-days-before Christmas.

Are we sure that my Jezebel and Soba weren't separated at birth? She's been known to leave *ahem* INTERESTING presents in beds and such... (Jezebel also came from a shelter, where they told me they had a hard time finding homes for torties because people thought they were ugly, so she wants to let Soba know that she can't wait to see the Manifesto when it's ready!)
Merry Christmas to all of you from all of us!
Robin, Jezebel, Delenn and Lucy (my step-cat; her human/my roommate is away for the holidays)

Merry Christmas to you too, Laurie, from Oregon! You brighten my day with every blog post!
My Siamese Harry says Merry Christmas to your furry clan. From over here. Not by them. (He's not very social.) :)
Posted by: Sandy at December 24, 2007 06:17 PM
And that hat's just ever so much more hilarious on Soba than any of the others. Something about dignity? Or lack of?
Four years ago I had a five month old kitten at Christmas time and I used one of those sweet-sleeping-in-a-perfect-circle pics and photoshopped it into the center of a Christmas wreath for my holiday cards that year. It was actually the last year I did cards!

Merry Christmas!
I love Sobakowa's expression...I can't quite decide if she is trying to hypnotize you into giving her a whole tin of Pounce or just thinking "I will have my revenge for this, human. Oh yes, I will have my revenge."

Merry Christmas, Laurie, to you and yours! (I have a large warm cat kneading my belly at this moment up here in snowy Canada! The cat is one to pick - she is a pudding!) I hope next year is even better than this one for you - of course it will be - you will go on holiday!

Happy Christmas Laurie and best wishes for a Wonderful and Prosperous New Year! I hope Soba gets what she wants 'cause I know that look. I usually get it from the top of my china cabinet when my little tortie Teemu wants something from the kitchen counter! What torties want torties get!

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
We're also watching a lot of Turner Classic Movies - Frank is the KING of cheesy 50s science fiction, but I am constantly amazed at how many other really cool old movies he knows! It's really fun to watch the old ones made in LA in the 50s, and try to figure out where they were filmed! I love that!

glad to see you survived the application of hat to cat long enough to create this post.
Christmas here at Trash Towers was spent watching 'Gone with the wind', eating home-baked ham and curled on the sofa reading the the adventures of 'L.A. Girl and her four super cats'. I already have plans to knit the sexy shawl in 2008. Thanks C.A.P.

Your book was delivered on Christmas Eve and I finished it yesterday. As one Southern woman to another (and one twice divorced and much older than you) life is good--with or without a man, with or without kids, but never, ever without cats (4 of my own) and dogs (3) and one tortoise--and hopefully an empty nest within the next 2 years. Keep writing.

Glad to learn I'm not the only "Old Movie" nut out there. My "Netflix" cue is about 50% new releases and 50% oldies.
I don't think Gene Kelly was ever matinee idol material. He was an okay actor but never had the acting chops of Peck. But he was probably the most masculine of the musical stars of the era. His dancing style is absolutely unique. His "Singing in the Rain" solo is the Gold Standard! You've no doubt seen it, since it shows up on almost on the "Best of" movie compilations, and the full movie is also worth watching.
I'll have to confess that my fave Sexy Bygone Guy is Yul Brynner. That scene in "The King and I" where stops the "Shall We Dance?" number to put his arms around Deborah Kerr ...
Is it hot in here???
Happy Tivo-ing!
