Everyone is tired.

Roy tries to keep his eyes open between naps.

Yes, I know how hard that can be. Poor Roy, he has such a hard life.
Posted by: Dorothy B at December 4, 2006 09:24 AM
Tired here too... I think that we're all supposed to be hibernating, it is almost winter... must have missed the memo. Hard to keep my eyes open between emails and phone calls - day dreaming of cozy naps with the kitties.
Have a great week, Laurie!

Roy should be thankful he lives somewhere that the windows can still be open.
Vader has been going nuts for 2 months now that upstate NY is too dang cold to even open the curtains, let alone the doors/windows.
Rest up, Roy! Enjoy the sunshine. (And send some to NY)
Posted by: k8 at December 4, 2006 09:40 AM
aw, Roy, can you move over just a little and make some more room ... aaaah ...
Posted by: Colleen in MA at December 4, 2006 09:41 AM
B-r-r-r, like Amy said,it's cold in Upstate NY!!! My kitties have been curled up in our blankets and comforter with their noses buried in their tails. I miss the sunshine and so does Screamer and Sweetie-girl (my kitties)!

It's even cold in Texas. Only 20-something degrees tonight! Brrr!
Great to see Roy looking cozy.

Nice to see warm (?) sunshine and leaves on trees out yonder in La-La Land. Hope you had a great weekend.
Posted by: Mary in Virginia at December 4, 2006 09:48 AM
Lucky Roy! My cat Phoebe has been fussing for a week to have me open the bathroom window for her to lounge in....but it's been in the 20's-40's here in Central Texas...so NO WAY!!!
Y'all HAVE to read today's Garfield! ROFL!!!

Such a pretty boy. I'm jealous of his open window.
Posted by: Cookie at December 4, 2006 10:27 AM
Oh to be Roy. As a Southern Californian, I really wish that it would cool down a bit. I don't mean Siberian temps, but I maybe low 60's so I can wear my fabulous hand knits.
Posted by: Miss Wendy at December 4, 2006 10:30 AM
Purl--update us on our boy Roy--how's he doing?
Posted by: pam at December 4, 2006 10:43 AM
As another Southern California, I too wish that it would cool off already. It's December, for god's sake. Hey, I'd even go for the low 50s. Brrrr.
Our boys, MacDuff and Samson, aren't as lucky as Roy. Our condo is filled with cat-unfriendly windows that have no-napping, tiny ledges. For that reason alone, we really should move.
Posted by: Annie D at December 4, 2006 10:53 AM
Presumably he's resting up so as to be ready for his next meal.
Posted by: B. at December 4, 2006 10:56 AM
An open window!! My cats are so cold (teens in the morning, 30 for the high today. I am happy to see Roy. Thanks for the photo!
Posted by: robinv at December 4, 2006 11:13 AM
Does Roy nod off and then wake up and try to look dignified when his chin hits the blanket? I love it when cats do that. (OK, cats don't really have chins, but you know what I mean.)
Posted by: Lucia at December 4, 2006 11:13 AM
That's me yesterday. Except it was cold and dreary outside.
Posted by: Ang at December 4, 2006 11:27 AM
Poor Roy. I hope he doesn't completely wear himself out with all that effort.
Posted by: Amanda at December 4, 2006 11:33 AM
I think I'll come back in my next life as a kitty (that is if I have anything to say about it).
Posted by: Julie at December 4, 2006 11:36 AM
I second Pam's comment - please give us an update on the adorable Roy.
Posted by: criquette at December 4, 2006 11:50 AM
It's a cat's life.
Posted by: Neil at December 4, 2006 12:21 PM
Cats most certainly DO have chins! My Jenny loves to have hers rubbed!
Posted by: Cathie at December 4, 2006 12:44 PM
Thought bubble for Roy: bacon truck bacon truck bacon truck
Posted by: Regina at December 4, 2006 12:54 PM
Hi! Just a note to tell you how much I love your blog - a lot! The layout looks great too. I really look forward to seeing that you have a new post!
Posted by: carrie at December 4, 2006 01:03 PM
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Warm, fuzzy, sleepy kitlettes. It don't get much better than that.
And as for you fellow SoCal-ians, HEY. It's friggin FORTY DEGREES at night, and I'm freezing my a$$ off!!! In another month, when it's cold and rainy and downright miserable, you'll be saying, "Oh, I wish it was warm!"
Posted by: MonkeyGurrl at December 4, 2006 01:17 PM
Yes, please let us know how Roy is. Mostly because he looks like he's doing well, and I'm in need of a well-doing cat story. My mom's Gabby is not well, not well at all, and it's breaking all our hearts.
Posted by: e. at December 4, 2006 01:19 PM
Aw, "e.", sorry to hear that. I know what it's like having a kitty not doing well.
Love that Roy!
Posted by: Leeny at December 4, 2006 01:30 PM
Roy and Frodo have the same problem then. Brave boys. Brave little boys.
Posted by: Mary at December 4, 2006 02:09 PM
I'm with Colleen.Roy, move over a bit please, would ya? I want to join, too*yawn*...
Posted by: demondoll at December 4, 2006 02:43 PM
I was so tired, I did a grand total of nothing today.
But no one noticed and i got paid for it so shhh!
Posted by: Anne-Marie at December 4, 2006 02:43 PM
Mmm, lucky Roy. I'll join the chorus: it's cold in Ohio too. We reached a balmy 25 degrees today! Ah well, it is December, I don't know why I continue to expect anything different! :)
Laurie, for the last couple of weeks, I've been every now and then getting this tune stuck in my head - "I like big butts and I cannot lie! You other brothers can't deny! But there's no Flash demo inside!" My husband officially thinks I am out of my mind now. Hee hee!
Posted by: Julie at December 4, 2006 03:56 PM
Poor Roy! It's been so cold out here lately that he needs all of the energy he can get.
I've been putting my heating pad on for my furbabies. You have no idea how many cats can fit in a 12"x24" area.
Posted by: Stacey at December 4, 2006 04:11 PM
Julie? That song? About big butts? My kids know that song, from Shrek, and they LOVE to sing it. They're 5 1/2 and 4 years old. I'm waiting for the call from the Kindergarten teacher.
Posted by: rb at December 4, 2006 04:11 PM
LOOK at that sunshine!! And here I was, thinking we're so darned special to get flurries up here in Maine...
BTW, have you noticed that your patterns have made it onto the recent list at Knitting Pattern Central! How spiffy!
Hugs from your frozen blog stalker. As opposed to the toasty stalkers down south.
Posted by: Dagny at December 4, 2006 04:36 PM
Toast? It's 22 degrees in NW Alabama. There aint no toast here.
I was having So Cal withdrawl again today. I miss home.
Posted by: rick at December 4, 2006 05:44 PM
Awwwwww.. sweet Roy. Hope he's feeling a bit better. Had these long cold winter days.
Posted by: Beth at December 4, 2006 06:05 PM
Poor Roy. I hate it when things interfere with my ability to nap.
Posted by: Dagny at December 4, 2006 07:46 PM
What a beautiful cat! I bet her fur is all toasty warm. Makes you want to squeeze and cuddle her.
Posted by: Malnurtured Snay at December 4, 2006 08:17 PM
Tell Roy it's phrasin' down here in Baton Rouge. Almost cold enough for me to make some bacon.

Posted by: Holly at December 5, 2006 07:03 AM
I bet the cutie is tired because he's freaking out about the insane Valley wind. The insane Valley wind that is knocking down full grown trees.. oh my goodness.
Posted by: Steph at December 5, 2006 11:51 AM
Aww. A nap sounds good...

Crazy Purl, this is Letty Pearl...I am a Foster and Smith junkie too and I finally broke down and bought the very pet stroller you show. IT was on sale for 99.00 as I am sure you know and my Pug loves to go for her motoring trips in it cause she is 15 now and a little less spunky these days. People know I am looney now . I actually thought that I should try to hide the fact that it is a dog but oh well....Any which-a-way...the pet stroller is much more delightful than I could have imagined...well built and a smooth ride. You really should get one and stroll the cats around...IT only makes sense...
