We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for breaking news of uncontrollable cuteness

"Do you have to leave for work?"
"Yes, Roy, I do. I have to bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan..."
"Oh. Okay. But remember how cute I look while you're gone."
"I will."
"And don't forget the bacon, you hear?"

Aaawwww! It's so hard to leave! That's even worse than I get from my two 17 year old cats! And I just CAN'T imagine leaving FOUR cats at home every morning.
Aren't weekends wonderful?

(I have this huge desire to say something like "Woo hoo! I'm the first AND second commenter!")
Posted by: Imaginary Maggie at October 6, 2006 02:04 PM
You know you're a CCL when you are excited to get home on a Friday night (the first really cold night of the year) (Okay, "cold" is a relative term but whatever) and snuggle on the sofa with your posse of cats.
me = CCL
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2006 02:05 PM
Dude, that's some serious fang going on there...
Posted by: roggey at October 6, 2006 02:06 PM
and Hi Maggie :)
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2006 02:06 PM
I MUST be a CCL because I've cancelled dates to stay home and cuddle with my boys...my furry, cuter, purring boys that is. I LOVE that Roy. That picture almost made me cry. Don't leave for work!
Posted by: marissa at October 6, 2006 02:11 PM
cute!!! and yet slightly scary with the fangs peeking out.
You should see the look a poodle can produce in the morning when you're not taking her in the car again!!! (aww, c'mon mom! please? just this once?? I'll be good, I swear!)
Posted by: Becky at October 6, 2006 02:15 PM
I know! I just look at him and want to cry! The cuteness!
He wears his lone fang loud and proud :)
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2006 02:15 PM
Have you seen those commercials where - instead of cats - there are people behaving as cats? They are for food - and there is the one with the 'overweight' cat? It cracks me up. You'd like those commercials...
Posted by: minou's mommy at October 6, 2006 02:47 PM
He has a toof hangin' out, like Bucky in Get Fuzzy! .....all da better to bite da bacon........
Posted by: PlazaJen at October 6, 2006 02:53 PM

Posted by: Pensguys at October 6, 2006 02:53 PM
Dear Roy,
I enjoy your fang. And your entire snout region.
Posted by: Christina at October 6, 2006 02:53 PM
Aww, WAY too cute.
Which makes me HAFTA do this ... and I hate pimping my blog on your comment section but DUDE ... ya gotta see my favorite picture of CJ ... just took it recently ... you can see in her eyes just how intently she is willing that last Honey Nut Cheerio out of the bowl and into her mouth. :)
(if I had the pic on this work computer I'da emailed it instead ... sorry everyone else ... just call me 'Da Pimp')

That Roy is the cutest boy!
Is he still being finicky about drinking? If so, have you tried soaking some (cooked) bacon in it to flavor the water? After all, we drink flavored water, why shouldn't Roy?
Posted by: Leslie at October 6, 2006 03:03 PM
He's doing better with his water right now... though bacon water might make him happy :)
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2006 03:06 PM
Awwwwww!! The big blue eyes, the discreet hint of fang - just beautiful!
Posted by: Peeve at October 6, 2006 03:08 PM
Oh my gosh, he's cute! Now I see why he's your fav!
Posted by: Mary in Virginia at October 6, 2006 03:14 PM
What a cute face! Precious, really. Perfect Friday goodness.
Have you gotten email from me this week?
Posted by: Kristy at October 6, 2006 03:18 PM
Roy! I never knew you were a fangor kitty!
Posted by: Mary from Bosie at October 6, 2006 03:19 PM
The fang is just *killing* me. Heh. See, my cats never pull anything cute like that.
(Riiiiiight.)
Posted by: casey at October 6, 2006 03:20 PM
Oh, goodness. he looks like such a sweet old man kitty.
Posted by: Jill at October 6, 2006 03:25 PM
We are actually an entire nuclear CCL family. We have 3 persons in full-time residence (self, son, spouse) while The Perfect Daughter is away at university. We have 3 cats. I stencilled a cat onto my son's bedroom wall, so that we'd each have at least one cat in the room at night. The painted cat has a name (Wally). We worry that we don't have enuf cats. One of our favourite tv shows is what we call "Cats in Jail" on our local cable channel, a half-hour where the animal shelter introduces that week's strays & induces people to visit (yeah, uh-huh, that's how 2 of the current 3 came to live with us). AND my daughter thinks I MIGHT turn into a CCL. We are already there, my sweeties.
Posted by: Vicky in Vancouver at October 6, 2006 03:27 PM
Mmmmm... bacon... *drool*
Posted by: Anne at October 6, 2006 03:31 PM
Such a handsome fellow! Not that my Egbert isn't equally distinguished, mind you...
Posted by: Steph B at October 6, 2006 03:51 PM
Oh my! My cat sits in the front window and meows at me as I walk out to the garage....oh the guilt:) which can be remedied with more bacon!!
Posted by: Jan at October 6, 2006 04:14 PM
It's raining here in NoCal and the couch, the cats, the cabernet and the cable are calling out to this CCL too.
Kiss me some Roy pink nose.
Posted by: Marilyn at October 6, 2006 04:22 PM
Roy looks kind of like my sister's cat, viewable here: http://chiaroscuro.baltiblogs.com/archives/005387.html , except quite a bit slimmer - odd, considering his prediliction for bacon! (you don't actually give in to his pork product demands do you? ;)
Posted by: karenology at October 6, 2006 04:27 PM
Kristy, I will do a search for your email... all those great knitting spot pics? It was like 500 millionbytes or something and my email died for a full week, so I am awash in spam. I will go search for you now :)
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2006 04:38 PM
Roy is so extremely handsome - I love his little pink nose!
Our cats *love* Canadian bacon...moreso than the other kind. Much easier to cook up too - just pop a slice in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up. Might Mr Roy (and friends) like this too?
Posted by: Kathy at October 6, 2006 04:43 PM
Roy is so cute. I, too, have a difficult time leaving for work in the morning as my Yorkie body slams himself against the glass slider 4 or 5 times as I'm leaving. This is only compounded by the fact that I come home for lunch and rinse, repeat. It's heartbreaking.
Posted by: Kim in CT at October 6, 2006 05:16 PM
And never never let him forget he's a ...
cat.
(Now I'll have that song in my head for days. Thanks ever so much!)
Posted by: AT at October 6, 2006 05:18 PM
Aww, love Roy!
Posted by: Dorothy B at October 6, 2006 05:21 PM
I wuv his toof.
Posted by: Cheryl in PA at October 6, 2006 05:27 PM
That Roy's a heartbreaker, I tell you! Gracie just plops down in the center of my living room and watches me leave each morning. But when I get home, she's meowing in greeting at the door. (Then she either runs to her food dish and stares me down until I feed her, or she plops back down on the floor and wills me to pet her)
Posted by: Tami at October 6, 2006 05:40 PM
I'M BURNING WITH THE CUTENESS!!!!!
(Just funnin', Roy-boy! If you ever need a chin scratchin', I'm there for you)
Posted by: Amanda at October 6, 2006 06:14 PM
OMG!!! what kitty cuteness!!
that fang slays me :)
Posted by: mish at October 6, 2006 06:16 PM
oh I can't stanad the cuteness!!!
Posted by: Beth at October 6, 2006 06:23 PM
I forgot that my husband is in the room.....I JUST KISSED ROY ON THE SCREEN IN FRONT OF ANOTHER HUMAN!!!!
Now I have to break it to Juanny that he has seen too much and it is time for him to die. Sigh. It's been a great 17 years, though.
Have a great weekend snuggling with your furries!!
Posted by: Liz R at October 6, 2006 06:33 PM
Oh, MAN! I HAVE to get a cat soon! This is killin' me! Roy is too adorable! (But thanks for sharing! At least I can enjoy HIS cuteness till I adopt a kitty-person!)

Posted by: Pam at October 6, 2006 08:34 PM
That boy is such a honey...
Posted by: Shelly at October 7, 2006 05:06 AM
Roy should TOTALLY be on Cute Overload. Really. Too much cuteness NOT to share.
As far as leaving, the dog (white) and the cat (black) just kind of lay/lean on each other and look at me like, "What? You can deny our cuteness and LEAVE us?!?!?!"
Posted by: Angelle at October 7, 2006 07:08 AM
I guess I have reached CCL level. I dozed off in front of the TV last night. (Yes, I stayed in on a Friday night -- sort of.) When I woke up in the middle of the night, I decided to not move to my bed because the cats were curled up around my feet. They haven't done that since last winter.
And Roy really does look cute/pathetic in that photo.
Posted by: Dagny at October 7, 2006 07:29 AM
For leslie at 3:03 - I seem to remember that some fool (?) company came out with flavored water for cats a couple of years ago. I only remember the fish flavor. If they are still out there, suggest bacon flavored water, if not.....a business that will allow you to stay home with the kitties!
Posted by: bonnie at October 7, 2006 09:43 AM
ROY!!!!!
My cats are usually not on me when I'm trying to leave. We all know that Lying in Sunny Spots is an extremely important cat activity. (I insisted on an apartment with the windows facing south because it would get good sun, even in winter, and maybe I kind of did that primarily so that the cats would be sure to have sunny places to nap.) And that's usually what they are doing when I leave.
Except, of course, on days I have an interview. Then there is sure to be a cat to see me off with a nice coating of cat hair on my black pants.
Posted by: sunflower at October 7, 2006 11:40 AM
Why do cats have such cute chins? I swear, I'd marry my cat's chin and have it's babies it's so cute.
Posted by: Robin at October 7, 2006 12:28 PM
Ahhhh! how did you manage to tear yourself away :-)
He looks so cute :-)
Posted by: Janine at October 7, 2006 01:29 PM
When one has attained Roy's stature, someone should "knight" him. I had Sir Thomis,Queen Bobbi McGee, etc. . . long line of regency in this home. Current prince - "Sheldon the Sitka Diva".
I look forward to your post everyday. Thank you for being true.
Posted by: audie at October 7, 2006 02:07 PM
Roy is a beautiful boy!! And if I was more poetically inclined, I could write him a poem. So instead I will just hug him virtually!!!
Posted by: Lynn at October 7, 2006 02:55 PM
Recently we were discussing the possibility of making one of our cats Pope, and we decided that the fact that she was not Italian, and was female,
made the third point, that she was a cat, irrelevant.
Posted by: Bonnie at October 7, 2006 04:22 PM
Awww, Roy is such a cutie! I have to admit, sometimes when I leave for work in the morning, I look at my Max and Quincy and think, coming home to this cuteness will get me through any kind of crappy day ahead! (Also a CCL)
Posted by: Anne L. at October 7, 2006 07:10 PM
Roy, the cutest cat in the entire blog-o-sphere.
Nuffin' better than a Roy pic.

That is serious cuteoverload level stuff there. And isn't it even better when they look like that when you get home?
The little dialogue was the best. Very clever.

I've run across your site several times, but only today took the time to actually read it. Wow! I feel so... inferior. (Hmm, is that because of your deft word skills which leave mine in the proverbial dust or was I already having a bad ego day?)I can see that my blog needs some serious reworking -- and more pictures of my cat,Cat. The only problem is explaining to my boyfriend why I'm more interested in photographing Cat instead of his little boys.
Anyway, just wanted to reiterate what the teeming multitudes have already conveyed to you: awesome work and congrats on finding yourself to be such a strong, delightfully neurotic Southern woman. As a born-and-raised Texas girl, I understand. I also am a knitter, divorced with no children, turned 35 this year and think I may have a touch of social anxiety disorder. So when I say I understand, I mean I *really* understand. God(dess) bless ya, darlin', and thank you. Somehow I feel less alone.

What a cutie. I'm a sucker for a cat with a snaggle tooth. :-)
Posted by: Sabeine at October 9, 2006 05:22 AM
Oh, mine were doing this just this morning! Only they never give me the okay to leave, no matter how much I try to remind them that the catnip train dries up if I lose my job. Harold was giving me the glinty-eye look from a head-tucked-upside-down pose, and Pan turned his back to me but kept an ear in my direction to see if I changed my mind. I was away for the weekend, and despite their adoring catsitter, they are scarred for life by that 48-hour period of mom-less-ness. Or so they would have me think...

Your Roy looks a wee bit like my Murphy, but slimmer, and less cross-eyed! Long live the Siamese(mixed) cat.
Posted by: demondoll at October 9, 2006 05:49 PM
I'm pretty sure Roy is the best cat name I've ever heard.
Posted by: Penny Karma at October 9, 2006 06:48 PM
Roy is just a doll, such a spoiled boy too! I'm sure he thinks that you are lucky to have him. I used to have a cat like that. His name was Mork!
Posted by: The Procrastiknitter at October 9, 2006 06:59 PM
Now, I am not really expecting a reply - as this is the 72nd comment!, but I wondered what kinda cat? Looks like my tabby-point Siamese
Posted by: India at October 10, 2006 02:45 AM
There ought to be a law against that much cuteness, Roy, but then I'm glad there isn't. Love those fangs!!
My Ms. Graysea Girl loves bacon and Roy, Too. She gazes at him on "her" laptop!
Hoping Grandma Purl is making great improvements!
Love all your posts.
