Ohh, the cuteness! Harold sometimes gets that same patient look as Pan either washes him or kneads into his fur.

I really want to get my new digital camera so I can again capture these moments with my herd.

First? Ooh, first!

(And second...I'll stop here though.)

Posted by: ccr in MA at October 25, 2006 10:13 AM

I love cats so much I can't stand it.

Posted by: Jennifer at October 25, 2006 10:13 AM

Now that's a lotta cat!

Is today better than yesterday?

Posted by: Nancy Knits at October 25, 2006 10:22 AM

I love the kitties!
this is a great picture.
give the roy-roy and sobas a little xoxo for me. ..just love them!

Posted by: kelpkim at October 25, 2006 10:22 AM

Heyyy, Sobakowa isn't getting Fat ... just "Extra-Fluffy" (or maybe that's just how I rationalize my OWN weight issues!! ...lol)

Posted by: Kat at October 25, 2006 10:24 AM

Ha, my little tortie Frances has been getting the barrel-chest/tummy lately. She must be bulking up for a long winter of sleeping. Oh wait, that's what she does all the time. So cute, thanks for the picture.

Posted by: BigAlice at October 25, 2006 10:30 AM

Awww. It does look like her, er, empire is expanding. Do cats that don't go out gain weight as winter approaches? Mine sure do -- any day now Fluffy will start looking like a surgically altered tribble.

Posted by: Lucia at October 25, 2006 10:34 AM

Precious!

Posted by: Betsy at October 25, 2006 10:38 AM

I love me so big ol kitty booty!!!The other one (is that Roy?) looks like he is says "SHHHHHHHHH! Dammit she is really grumpy when she wakes up!"

Posted by: Regina at October 25, 2006 10:42 AM

Soba must maintain her bulk in order to keep skinny Roy warm. It is her mission. Don't get in her way.

Posted by: Marilyn at October 25, 2006 10:46 AM

Think of all that warm snuggling once it gets cold.

Oh, wait... ya'll don't get cold down there.

Posted by: Cookie at October 25, 2006 10:47 AM

Soba's got some junk in her trunk...

Posted by: NMS at October 25, 2006 10:47 AM

All of the great dictators seem to bulk up after awhile. Think about Benito Mussolini and Joseph Stalin. It is that dictatorial spread.

My twin sister's cat, Buffy, recently visited the vet for her check-up and shots. She weighs 18 pounds and doesn't even have any plans to take over the world...at least that we know of.

Posted by: Kristy at October 25, 2006 10:51 AM

Oh, I purely love that fluffy bit of kitty butt hanging out through the handle...

Posted by: Marisa at October 25, 2006 10:58 AM

Does anyone know just HOW much time I would waste playing kissy face with those two adorable kitties in the basket?

Oh the cuteness!

Posted by: TamiW at October 25, 2006 11:02 AM

Soba's not fat, it's just the angle. At least that's what I say about my pictures...

Posted by: JalynR at October 25, 2006 11:06 AM

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Fuzzy cuddly catlet butt!!! If only my big butt looked so cute!

Posted by: MonkeyGurrl at October 25, 2006 11:11 AM

Snicker! That's too cute!

Pictures of my kitties are up on my site today, too!

Posted by: guinness girl at October 25, 2006 11:18 AM

I just love Roy's facial expressions. Again, I believe that you really should create a Crazy Aunt Purl cat calendar, it would sell big time.

Posted by: Miss Wendy at October 25, 2006 11:24 AM

I love the cat pictures! I could read an entire blog just of your cat pictures with their hillarious quotes!

Posted by: Lucy at October 25, 2006 11:26 AM

my boys are 22 lbs (Puddy) and 19 lbs (Leon) and their sister is 6 lbs (Spot)...but a tough 6lbs! and yes, their job in life is to eat and sleep. Soba looks like she could throw her weight around just a bit.

hi Roy!

Posted by: robinv at October 25, 2006 11:34 AM

Do those cats do anything else but sleep and pose for the cameras? Nevermind - I know the answer to that. Roy is da man. errr - cat.

Posted by: Epiphany at October 25, 2006 11:49 AM

now your in for it missy, once Soba finds out you took a pic of the rear. you think roy is going to keep quite! HA

Posted by: laurie d at October 25, 2006 12:15 PM

My Jesse just clocked in at 20.7 lbs at the vet on Monday. He isn't missing any meals, either.

Posted by: Julie at October 25, 2006 12:15 PM

That is a very cute picture. Soba and my Jezzy have the same kind of rear view.

Does the vet give you the arched eyebrow, pursed lips, maybe you should try to feed her a little less lecture?

Posted by: Dorothy B at October 25, 2006 12:16 PM

They certainly look like they are great friends.

Posted by: Neil at October 25, 2006 12:58 PM

I think she's just fluffing up for the winter. Or maybe she's big boned?

Posted by: Fluffycat at October 25, 2006 01:37 PM

Awwwwww!! Fuzzy Soba butt!! It may be just as well to have this picture as insurance for when she does take over the world.

Posted by: Peeve at October 25, 2006 01:37 PM

Soba has what I call "Napoleon butt"--turn your back on it, and it tries to take over the WORLD!!!
But you know, all that weight Roy lost has to go somewheres--and it looks like Soba found it!
(Give them a snuggle for me!)

Posted by: Susan at October 25, 2006 01:44 PM

Nice arse Soba! *sigh* I love Roy.

Posted by: Nancy at October 25, 2006 02:15 PM

awwww-- Soba's just hoggin' the sunpatch...
love the look on Roy's face --"there she is with that camera again..." tee hee!

Posted by: your friend Cheryl in PA at October 25, 2006 02:54 PM

Oooooh! Roy and Soba cuddling! Too cute! I LOVE kitties, too! I would SO buy your cat calendar if you had one. And anytime someone here says they've just posted pics of their kitties, like guinness girl, I haveta go look! :)

Posted by: Leeny at October 25, 2006 02:58 PM

Now THAT is a big fuzzy kitty butt. Heh.

Posted by: Samantha at October 25, 2006 03:11 PM

Must be the day for foofy-kitty pics, I just posted one too. Oct. 25 was my MIL's b'day. 'Nuff said! She taught me how to be a GOOD MIL--just do the opposite of what she did. So far it's been working fine.

Posted by: Marie at October 25, 2006 03:38 PM

It may just be the basket shrinking due to changing humidity ... or something.
Same thing that is going on in the jeans department.

Posted by: Camilla at October 25, 2006 03:44 PM

My daughter had the very best cat-butt quote ever, while speaking for the flouncy, bouncy, fluffy-uffy Bailey The Cat:

"Look at my butt! It's EVERYWHERE!"

Posted by: Shelly at October 25, 2006 05:37 PM

Awwww...those two are just so cute together!

Posted by: Amy at October 25, 2006 05:40 PM

Just wanted to let you know that you were in my thoughts today. I hope this Oct. 25th has gone better than it has in recent years.

Posted by: Kristina at October 25, 2006 07:18 PM

Just to defend us vets who might happen to mention during an annual visit that certain fuzzy furry catlet butts should maybe shed a little of the junk in the trunk... we are WORRIED about your babies! Diabetes! Pancreatitis! Fatty liver syndrome! Grooming issues (when the poor things can't reach their behinds because they're too pudgy to bend backwards anymore!) I've seen it all! Please think twice before being insulted that your vet said your cat has started, er, shopping in the plus size section! ;)

Posted by: Teri at October 25, 2006 07:31 PM

So sweet!

And here's hoping that this October 25th was head-and-shoulders above your last few.... :-)

Posted by: Mary in Virginia at October 25, 2006 08:36 PM

And the vet had the nerve to tell our little 9 lb kitty that she was fat... not that Soba is or anything mind you, but come on! Love me some Roy too, hehehe

Posted by: Anne at October 25, 2006 08:50 PM

Hope today was filled with beauty for you, our lovely Crazy Aunty.

Posted by: lorinda at October 25, 2006 09:16 PM

Soba's not fat, she's just big-boned!

Besides... the camera adds 10 pounds.

And we're not going to talk about how many cameras are ON her...

Posted by: ErinM at October 26, 2006 05:50 AM

The Dictator and my Mr. Ace would never fit in there together!!
Winter poundage....that's what Ace calls it, just in case something happens to his momma and she can't regularly refill the food bowl...on schedule!

Posted by: Robin in VA at October 26, 2006 06:34 AM

To repeat what everyone seems to have already done so... MAJOR Fuzzy Buttocks!!

Coincedentally (sp?) I posted my diva girl's version of "talk to the hand" which is "talk to my ass and I might get back to you..." on my blog. Come visit.

My kitten is doing an imitation of a vampire and the older boy is doing his impression of a jack o'lantern... Stop by...

Posted by: Samantha at October 26, 2006 06:43 AM

Is it just me, or does it look like you interrupted something here? Roy seems to be giving you a look...

Posted by: k8 at October 26, 2006 09:00 AM

Your October 25th is my January 23rd. Only my wedding anniversary is ALSO the same day I had to stand in court to get divorced. Double whammy anti-anniversary. It could always be worse. (I never did figure out what court clerk though it was a good idea/funny to set the court date for the anniversary...)

Best of wishes.

Posted by: historicstitcher at October 26, 2006 09:01 AM

too cute! but it's true, soba will get you back for that pic :)

Posted by: rhett at October 26, 2006 09:27 AM

My divorce day was June 6 - 5 days before what would have been my 12th wedding anniversary. June 6 - also known as "D-Day."

Somehow, that seemed appropriate.

We keep wondering why none of our vets have said our 13-pounder is fat. She has a little "apron" of flab that goes from side to side when she runs...

Posted by: OtherLisa at October 26, 2006 12:51 PM

I think Soba's just storing up energy to work on the manifesto.
