Playah, PLAYAH!!!!
Btw, Uccellina takes exception with your boobie observation and would like to stage a boob-off. Can I count you in as an independent judge?
Posted by: Monkeygurrl at August 18, 2006 12:10 PM
Am I really first? Dang, I *love* Fridays!!
Posted by: Monkeygurrl at August 18, 2006 12:10 PM
Aww, Bob. Marshall Janaie, the boss of our house, would love to have you around.
Posted by: Trixie at August 18, 2006 12:12 PM
I would love to offer my services as judge and jury in a boob-off. LOL. Nutty ladies!
Posted by: laurie at August 18, 2006 12:13 PM
He's getting his money's worth out of the treadmill at least!!!!
Posted by: laurie at August 18, 2006 12:14 PM
Bob is a fine lookin' fella! How fast does he go on that thing?;)
Posted by: demondoll at August 18, 2006 12:15 PM
Emily asks if Bob would consider cross-species dating? She has uploaded her picture to flickr, here:

(sorry for the long url. I tried to html the photo into this comment, but it didn't work)

Am I weird to really, really want to see a Sobakowa personal ad now?
Posted by: Rachel H at August 18, 2006 12:17 PM
'Sure you've seen this, but just in case...

You are such an inspiration to me, Laurie. Now and then I think I should really buy something like that, so that I could exercise when it is utterly foul out, even while watching TV Land (yes, I do, because I am a Truly Pathetic Old Fart). In my heart of hearts, though, I've always known how such a purchase would end up, but I'd never pictured it quite so vividly.
Posted by: Lucia at August 18, 2006 12:19 PM
I have to say I'm intrigued by those greenies myself... Not enough to haul off and try one but intrigued.
Probably because the package I read stated green bowel movement (their words not mine) is a normal side effect. Eh?
Posted by: carma at August 18, 2006 12:19 PM
Hooray! You made it to Friday. I was worried about you after your "tumped over" post. I hope you have a happy (and lonely-free) weekend. Interesting...there's no true opposite of lonely.
Posted by: tj at August 18, 2006 12:21 PM
I see a part for Bob in the sequel to "Snakes on a Plane" called "Cats in the Gym."
Posted by: Debbie at August 18, 2006 12:27 PM
I luv Bob.
Posted by: Mary in Boston at August 18, 2006 12:27 PM
Can Bob come over and lay on my treadmill too - because it isn't getting any damn attention and I'm starting to feel guilty.
Posted by: cursingmama at August 18, 2006 12:31 PM
So, have you seen this yet? http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14383788/?GT1=8404
I saw it and thought that perhaps Roy could use similar treatment. You know, to protect his one fang?
Posted by: Emily at August 18, 2006 12:41 PM
If you could actually get a video of bob running on the treadmill I bet that would be high on the YouTube ratings.
Brilliant.
Posted by: Faith at August 18, 2006 12:41 PM
What's a greenie? As in plants? Or is it something wonderfully southern?

Hee! Bob is looking very handsome in this photo!
Posted by: GG at August 18, 2006 01:20 PM
Too funny! :-)
Posted by: Mary in Virginia at August 18, 2006 01:21 PM
Bob...Don't over do it! You could get a serious muscle pull!
Posted by: Robin in VA at August 18, 2006 01:23 PM
Hey, I'm sure that Bob has worked out a sensibly balanced workout routine....
Nap on treadmill: 1:00 - 6:00 pm
Attack toilet: 6:00 - 6:15 pm
Beg for Greenies: 6:15 - 6:20 pm
Eat: 6:20 - 6:35 pm
Poop: 6:40 - ??
Avoid Soba: all day long (this is the endurance component)
Posted by: Samantha at August 18, 2006 01:26 PM
Your stuff? Isn't it all Soba's?
Posted by: Christine at August 18, 2006 02:04 PM
Bob is a gorgeous cat but that pose is not one of his most flattering- makes him look like he needs some sit-ups, not cardio! Why are the paws braced against the side of the treadmill so adorable?
Posted by: Sue F. at August 18, 2006 02:07 PM
That is one handsome cat. and greenies do make for green poop, in my dog...
Posted by: Lynne at August 18, 2006 02:20 PM
Turn offs include...
Hairballs, feet and strange peoples in my bed.
It's encouraging to see that the treadmill isn't covered with clothes and newspapers and etc. Good for you Laurie. Even if you're not it (don't tell), at least you give the appearance of leading a fit and healthy lifestyle. (We won't bring up the wine addiction.)
Posted by: k8 at August 18, 2006 02:34 PM
Hmm...Gracie is convinced that Bob is giving her (and only her) his patented come hither look. She has greenies, and will share (if he's fast enough).
Posted by: Tami at August 18, 2006 02:46 PM
Oh come on, Bob's only looking for some hot cat action - he already has a great gal for an LTR. Besides, he doesn't look the the settlin' type...
Posted by: lisa at August 18, 2006 02:47 PM
Bob's tummy is fluffy. heh.
Posted by: laurie at August 18, 2006 03:07 PM
Beautiful and not too bright - just like a lot of guys at the gym!
Posted by: Peeve at August 18, 2006 03:17 PM
I laughed out loud when I read this because, back in high school, the things we wore under our cheerleading skirts were called greenies. I know other people call them spankies or knickers or such, but our colors were green and white and we called them greenies. I was just trying to picture what, exactly, Bob would do with the greenies once he got them. LOL!
Thanks for the URL -- now I know what they really are!
Posted by: Sus at August 18, 2006 03:25 PM
My cat Kiki/Tom was laying on the kitchen table yesterday when I got home. I swatted him before I could take a pic. They do it on purpose, or my guy does. He waits til i get home to do his scratching on the new recliner. I got him a 7 layer, cat tree with scratching posts- he won't touch it. He lays in the middle of the kitchen if I'm in there. Bob is so cute!
Posted by: michele at August 18, 2006 04:03 PM
Hilarious! He really is giving a come hither look! Gilda and FatCat say he's very cute.
Posted by: robin at August 18, 2006 04:35 PM
Bob is much too handsome to ever settle with just one feline! Although I must say that considering his - errr - fluffy tummy - he might want to think about actually using that treadmill . . .
Posted by: knittingpagan at August 18, 2006 04:47 PM
Natasha was interested until she read that feet were a turn-off. She loves feet.
Posted by: Dagny at August 18, 2006 05:20 PM
Bob is just getting ready for winter. He'll need a little extra weight to keep warm.
No... really.
Posted by: Cookie at August 18, 2006 05:27 PM
Bob has to do something, Soba took all the other toys!
Posted by: Mo at August 18, 2006 05:57 PM
I don't understand the boob comments above??? But the BOB comments, yeah, he's a doll. If I was a cat, I'd answer his ad - cabbage head or not.

I live for Crazy Aunt Purl every day.
Kiss Kiss!
Posted by: Lisa at August 18, 2006 06:49 PM
nice pus...
hee, hee, hee, heeeeeeee....
sorry, i've had beer
Posted by: Anonymous at August 18, 2006 08:48 PM
I'm sure Bob will find a suitable lady!
Posted by: Chrissy at August 19, 2006 06:53 AM
(sigh) at least your treadmill is flat. Mine is currently folded up in the corner of the guest room. Granted at the moment I can't use it.. but it's been that was for a long bit now.
Posted by: Beth at August 19, 2006 06:54 AM
i got cat greenies at target in virginia yesterday, so they're mainstream now.
Posted by: lisa at August 19, 2006 07:39 AM
The way I hear you saying "cats on my stuff" in my head makes it sound like "snakes on a plane".
Posted by: Stacey at August 19, 2006 07:47 AM
Ha ha, "cats on my stuff".
And j, thanks for the link, I love that video.
Posted by: B. at August 19, 2006 09:17 AM
"I'm sick and tired of these muthaf-ing cats on my mutha-fing stuff!" ;)
Posted by: Catherine at August 19, 2006 11:44 AM
Are any of your cats gay? I have a bit fat cat that will take love from any place he can find it.
Posted by: Judith in NYC at August 19, 2006 02:19 PM
Bob's very cute!
Posted by: mrspao at August 19, 2006 03:08 PM
Tami, your Gracie and my Gracie will have to fight for Bob, because mine announced that she will also share her greenies with him. :)
He's too cute!
Posted by: Julie at August 19, 2006 03:33 PM
Laurie, Keep on a rockin, baby! Love will find a way! What happened with the guy you went out on a date with..last week? The week before? You're gonna be fine, girl. As my wise mother has always told me: "Be careful of what you wish for, it may come true". Take a drive up to Maine! I also have a '95 Jeep. I'll show you the sights! I'll also pour you a cool glass of vino.
Posted by: Annie from MAINE!! at August 19, 2006 05:10 PM
Oh Bob, how you tempt me with your catly delights ...
Posted by: Rabbitch at August 19, 2006 06:33 PM
we just bought greenie cookies - like with chocolate chips made from greenies, minou is very very excited...
Posted by: minou's Mommy at August 19, 2006 07:28 PM
My cat loved greenies, but I have heard from some people that unless fully chewed, they can cause impact in dogs. I haven't heard much about them in cats... but there were some local cases of the impacted-bowels dogs.
Posted by: Camelama at August 19, 2006 08:41 PM
ok, sorry laurie, that sounded quite alarmist. I meant to stress I haven't heard or seen any information about the same thing with greenies in cats, and I did a lot of research on it before letting my kitty have 'em.
Posted by: Camelama at August 19, 2006 08:42 PM
OOH OOH I just saw something really cool! Do you know where La Knitterie Parisienne is in Studio City? I don't live in LA so I have no idea if that's close to you or not. They have these cool knitting needles there called knit lites. They're needles that light up!! How cool is that? Bob is uber-cute.

Posted by: Jaimie L at August 20, 2006 08:03 AM
Jaimie L - I ordered the Knitlites from Patternworks.com, and they are totally awesome! Not that I've gotten to knit with them yet. I ordered two pair, and my kids...they hijacked them. But it's even fun to watch other people knit with them! (Knowing that your kids can knit gives you a warm fuzzy feeling anyway.) :)
Posted by: Julie at August 20, 2006 01:42 PM
We love Bob.
Posted by: Dorothy B at August 20, 2006 03:50 PM
He's keeping the mice off of it. Good kitty!
