HOW CUTE!!!! I Love a snuggle cat picture!! :)

Posted by: Rhett at May 17, 2006 09:19 AM

So cute!

I got my CAP tee today and if the weather would warm up here in Ohio, I could wear it. Brrr!

Posted by: Carol M at May 17, 2006 09:26 AM

*snuggles*!

Posted by: smokeyJoe at May 17, 2006 09:26 AM

Doesn't the furball know stayin' in bed all day don't pay the bills?

Posted by: Barbara from Nova Scotia at May 17, 2006 09:28 AM

TOO CUTE! That reminds me so much of my kitty Simon. He sleeps with me all night, and then in the morning, he snuggles in the covers and hides from the light. If you touch him he makes that annoyed half-purr sound. Then, just as we are about to leave, he gets up, s t r e t c h e s, and yawns. he looks most pissed off at us for being so loud.
Of course I immediately give him treats. I am a sucker.

Roy looks happier - I hope he's feeling okay?

Posted by: Tina at May 17, 2006 09:30 AM

Great picture. Cozy kitty.

Posted by: Tami at May 17, 2006 09:35 AM

Great picture. Cozy kitty.

Posted by: Tami at May 17, 2006 09:38 AM

He's got the "royal kitty 'tude" down pat doesn't he? Hope he's feeling better! QueenCat, Bladie Mae sends whiskers tipped with sweetness & good health vibes for all!

Posted by: kim at May 17, 2006 09:41 AM

I guess Roy never heard the story of when Al Green's woman served him breakfast in bed. Nothing like a pot of hot grits...

Oh, and today I carried my stuff to work in my lovely new CAP messenger bag. It fit my lunch, my knitting, and the next novel I plan to read plus all the other usual necessities of life.

Posted by: Dagny at May 17, 2006 09:44 AM

Woo hoo, I received my CAP mugs!! Thank you!!! :)

PS: Roy looks so happy!

Posted by: ~drew emborsky~ at May 17, 2006 09:46 AM

He looks so content all nessled up in the covers. Let's here a big "AWWWWWW!"
=:8

Posted by: Kimberly at May 17, 2006 09:48 AM

The title reminds of the day after the Oscars when my 12 year old and her best friend started singing variations like "It's hard out here for a shrimp." They also used "Chimp," "Blimp," and "Gimp." Good times.

Posted by: Lauren in Austin at May 17, 2006 09:58 AM

Obviously it's not true. You CAN get by on looks alone.

Posted by: Sue F. at May 17, 2006 09:59 AM

What are you all talking about CAP mugs and shirts? where do you get that stuff?

Posted by: Lynn at May 17, 2006 10:04 AM

Oh my goodness that is very dear...I believe my girls have those pillow cases on the right. Part of a set from Tarjay, Yes?

Posted by: Darci at May 17, 2006 10:07 AM

Awww. He's definitely related to my Ed. ("What do you mean, I'm lying in your spot? This is MY bed. While you're up, go get me a chicken.")

Posted by: Lucia at May 17, 2006 10:09 AM

Roy, honey, you just stay where you are. No need moving if you're comfy and you look so handsome.

CAP t-shirt must wait for the weekend for wearing as it has that 'lil "f" word on it (which so delights me, why?)

Posted by: Marilyn at May 17, 2006 10:10 AM

Lynn, click on the Cafepress button.

Posted by: Dagny at May 17, 2006 10:11 AM

His Royal Highness looks mighty comfortable.

Posted by: Mary in Virginia at May 17, 2006 10:12 AM

Well, le Roy does mean 'the king'.....

At least he's not biting/scratching/fighting/hiding under the couch. Maybe medicine in bed would do the trick!

Posted by: k8 at May 17, 2006 10:16 AM

One of my cats lays like this in the bed in the morning. I never get tired of it!

Posted by: Jen at May 17, 2006 10:17 AM

Erm... yeah. That looks familiar. Add a poodle and two more cats to it though.

Posted by: Sachi at May 17, 2006 10:22 AM

If you look off to the side and click on the green lined button for CafePress.com you will go directly to the CAP merchandise. I personally received my freakin' fabulous messenger tote in my mailbox yesterday and giggled with delight.

mwah

Posted by: Faith at May 17, 2006 10:25 AM

What a bum! My cat ate a knitting pattern today. I even posted a video. She says she needed some fiber in her diet?

Posted by: Stephanie at May 17, 2006 10:33 AM

Yes, the mug with "Everyone thinks there's coffee in this mug" was a big hit in our staff meeting today. I wish I could get away with the shirt on casual Friday, but I think they would frown upon the F bomb part. You gonna hook us up with some g-rated gear?

Posted by: Jenny at May 17, 2006 10:41 AM

Please, Laurie...I would love to have some G-rated or PG-rated CAP loot. I click over every day to see if you've added anything new.

Posted by: Natasha at May 17, 2006 11:00 AM

You're cats are so cute. They make me almost want one, then I remember I have dogs. LOL

Posted by: Melissa at May 17, 2006 11:00 AM

Laurie, you left out the last line: "and hurry it up already....can't you see I'm starving here?"

Posted by: Liz R at May 17, 2006 11:05 AM

I also second the motion for G rated gear! I'd love to sport some around my kids. ;-) (NOt that they haven't heard it before, really.)

Posted by: Tina at May 17, 2006 11:07 AM

How in the world can you get out of bed with something THAT cute in there?

Posted by: Jann at May 17, 2006 11:08 AM

Awesome stuff! You think that messenger bag would be completely inappropriate as a diaper bag? Just sayin'.

Posted by: Tara L at May 17, 2006 11:27 AM

Hey, I'll take a side of bacon too, if you're makin' it!

Posted by: Anonymous at May 17, 2006 11:28 AM

Bacon - our cats' favorite food. Salt and fat - they're no fools!

I hope the Insane Kitty Posse is all recovering nicely, especially the very handsome Roy. :)

Posted by: Kathy at May 17, 2006 11:30 AM

Insane Kitty Posse. now that's a good name for a t-shirt with roy doodles on it. or maybe the uni-soba (hint, hint).

:)

Posted by: smokeyJoe at May 17, 2006 11:43 AM

The Feline Liberation Army is doing OK, Bob & Franks & Roy still getting medicated, Soba has finished her required poisoning though I live in fear of hearing her start to sneeze again. Thank ya'll for asking!

I will definitely work up some less vulgar gear for the store, anyone have any special requests?? And let me know how the quality of the cafepress stuff is, since I haven't seen any of the printed pieces.

That Roy is something else.

work is insane today.

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 11:45 AM

AWWWW - my little boy will burrow too, but my girl would rather freeze than be cover-up lookin cute!

Posted by: Amy at May 17, 2006 11:47 AM

XL t's, please.

Posted by: smokeyJoe at May 17, 2006 11:57 AM

Poor Roy, he does suffer.... Almost as much as my kitties...NOT! Cute pic!

Posted by: Giovanna at May 17, 2006 11:57 AM

They don't have XL??? That is WRONGNESS. I am all about the XL.

Roy is so darn cute I can't stand it sometimes.

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 12:02 PM

I have found that Cafepress shirts show up way lighter than I expected, so keep the graphics dark. The babydoll t-shirt is all I've ever ordered, and it's kinda thin material, but I still love it. It fits really nice. The mug is actually really nice. The picture on it came out very clear and the colors were exactly like the website.

If you're taking requests..........
How about "Crazy Aunt Purl" in dark purple letters with the 3 pics of that chick underneath? Or just CAP and no chicks. I'll buy either. :)

Posted by: Jenny at May 17, 2006 12:03 PM

smokeyJoe, they all come in XL. You just have to click inside the size box & select it.

Posted by: Jenny at May 17, 2006 12:11 PM

I am indeed taking requests! I will keep in mind that the colors fade out in the process, thank you so much. I'll have to get to work on some graphic goodness...

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 12:12 PM

Ideas for CAP loot:
1. Excerpt from Sobakowa's manifesto (draft version okay).
2. One of your lists...about what I dunno...but you're so good with the lists!
3. Insane Kitty Posse pics with captions - one of my favorites is the series of three featuring Soba with the captions (paraphrasing here) "What are you looking at? It's not like I'm over here plotting your death...much." We want to see Roy, Frankie, and Bob, too!
4. The line about where are we going and why are we in this handbasket with the picture of the kitschy woman.

Posted by: Natasha at May 17, 2006 12:33 PM

Cutest cat picture EVER!!

Posted by: Kes at May 17, 2006 12:36 PM

My kitty woke me up at 5:00 a.m. climbing on stuff. As soon as I gave up trying to go back to sleep and vacated the bed he crawled under the quilt and went to sleep.

Posted by: Debbie at May 17, 2006 12:37 PM

Cafepress idea- Maybe one of those journals with a CAP list on the cover?

Posted by: Jann at May 17, 2006 12:44 PM

I think if you're going to do a Sobakawa shirt, it should be a hoodie.

Posted by: Dagny at May 17, 2006 01:00 PM

"The line about where are we going and why are we in this handbasket with the picture of the kitschy woman."

I second this!

The CafePress shirts run a bit small, so check their size charts before ordering. I normally wear a small (size 6) but bought their Jr. Raglan and Jr. Ringer in large and they fit perfectly. Just so you know.

Posted by: Carol M at May 17, 2006 01:35 PM

Awwwwww!!

*small voice*

I really liked the fact the cafepress stuff isn't PG - but a bigger range of goodies?? Excellent!

And I love Natasha's idea - number 2, especially. I NEED one of those to take to staff meetings.

Posted by: Peeve at May 17, 2006 01:40 PM

Aw, snuggly Roy! I'm having bacon for dinner, and you're welcome to share.

As far as CAP swag goes, what about a mouse pad with the kitties pictures on it?

Posted by: Angela at May 17, 2006 01:47 PM

What a sweet little face! It just doesn't matter that we inhale and get cat hair in our eyes all night, who can resist their funny little faces when they're asleep! Or any time for that matter!

I'd love to see a journal too, and I second Angela - a kitty mouse pad with kitty pics and captions!

Posted by: Brigitte at May 17, 2006 01:52 PM

A jumbo coffee mug with any of what you already have developed. (Both me and dh drink tea out of enormous mugs, this is a highly personal request!)

I LOVE the pic/caption of "Roy casts on." I'd buy it for dh in a heartbeat. And one for me too.

Possibly something with a gnome and knitting? :-)

Posted by: Tina at May 17, 2006 01:56 PM

I just want to pick up the cat and kiss its little cat nose.

Posted by: kim at May 17, 2006 01:57 PM

another cafepress idea...lurve the tee you have now, but how about replacing f*&# with 'mess' so that is might be a tad more acceptable in front of the little monsters?

Glad to hear the posse is recovering!

Posted by: mom on the verge at May 17, 2006 02:18 PM

Awww. Roy le roi looks very comfy.

Posted by: Martigny at May 17, 2006 02:31 PM

I think t-shirts with any of the banners from your knitting recipes would be great! And also the one you used when you had your addy up there (without the addy of course). I also love the banner you used on your CafePress page. That would be great as a t-shirt too!!

Posted by: ~drew emborsky~ at May 17, 2006 02:37 PM

Hmm...I'm leaning towards a Mary Poppins Gang graphic...small blond woman weilding an umbrella and yelling the signature line. "I'm from LA m--f--!" Um, only I couldn't take that to staff meetings. Other caption for that though - "Don't make me pop a CAP in ya!"

Posted by: Tami at May 17, 2006 02:49 PM

The XL that I ordered in the women's t-shirts is miiiiiighty small, girls. The model they have on the sizing chart is like -- 5'5" 112 lbs, wears size small.

I am 5'5" also but haven't seen 112 in 20 years. And after the recent and most excellent Oma's chocolate cake binge, I'll be lucky to see 170 again before the 4th of July. Heh!

Posted by: Marilyn at May 17, 2006 03:25 PM

Oh, oh, how about:

"Where are we going Aunt Purl? And why are we in this handbasket?" with pictures of the insane kitty posse all smooshed in the kitty pi. Do you still have the kitty pi?

Posted by: Marilyn at May 17, 2006 03:36 PM

You guys have the best ideas, thank you!

I heart you all. I will get to work on these things asap :)

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 03:42 PM

Oooh - speaking of the kitty pi - I was thinking of crocheting one for Gracie, because I am REALLY not ready for dpns...barely able to use two regular knitting needles. Does anyone have any idea how many stitches I'd need to start in the round to make it lay flat? (Sorry - I know it's a knitting blog here, but you reach such a large audience Laurie.)

Posted by: Tami at May 17, 2006 04:02 PM

I love it.

Posted by: Jennifer at May 17, 2006 04:07 PM

I love the shirts, but at 6 feet tall and 200.. well 2Much pounds! even an XL would have to be made into a pillow. I work in an elementary school so the f%^* is definately out. 'Where are we going would be great", if I have to applique it to a larger T that would be ok *sigh*.

Posted by: Bonnie at May 17, 2006 04:13 PM

Second the Cafepress banner with the woman saying "It's good. It's not coffee. But it's good."

Second the Mary Poppins Gang t-shirt, I'm from LA and I'm going to bust your ass.

Posted by: Sue F. at May 17, 2006 04:17 PM

Since Roy is a Pimp-cat, I envision his water dish to be a crunk goblet. Does he have teeny tiny gold chains to wear around his neck? ;)

Posted by: Catherine at May 17, 2006 04:19 PM

Bonnie - the baseball jerseys come in men's sizes and they go up to 2XL, so one of those would fit you fine.

Someone tell me to get back to work -- I'm blogsessing...

Posted by: Marilyn at May 17, 2006 04:21 PM

Tami, one of my readers posted directions on how she made a crocheted kitty pi on this thread, I hope it helps:
http://www.crazyauntpurl.com/archives/2006/02/do_you_think_th.php

I love all the art suggestions, thank you all so much!!

ya'll. Is it 5 o'clock yet? This has been the. longest. day.

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 04:25 PM

Catherine, somebody, please help me. Is "crunk" the past tense of "crank"??? I am so behind on my ghetto slang. I need advisin' ... and fast. I have been saying "crunk" but have no idea what it is. heh heh.

Posted by: laurie at May 17, 2006 04:30 PM

Yay! Thanks Laurie! For once, I may be able to use some of my stash yarn...(if I can find all that old Brown Sheep Wool I've got hanging around from my old felting days).

And yes, please do a MPG something. :) And only 18 more minutes to 5!

Posted by: Tami at May 17, 2006 04:43 PM

I am making a wish list right now from all the suggestions for CAP swag!

I second everyone's ideas!

Go CAP!!

Posted by: Tara L at May 17, 2006 05:10 PM

Hee. My first memory of it is when Conan O'Brien used the term "krunk" as an expletive. I now recognize it as a hybrid of "crazy and drunk." I don't think it's the past tense of "crank," although who knows nowadays?

Wikipedia explains "crunk" better than I can:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crunk

Urban Dictionary offers up some colorful suggestions as well:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=crunk

Posted by: Catherine at May 17, 2006 05:55 PM

Oh, yes--a Mary Poppins Gang Shirt! R-rated would be just fine (and in "luxuriously relaxed*" sizes.)
*This was actually how the women's sizes were described in an online catalog! Somehow it sounds better than my usual term for my size--hippobottomass or rhinocerass... ;o)

Posted by: Leslie too at May 17, 2006 07:43 PM

lol. Thought that everyone by now knew the word "crunk." I guess I listen to too much Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins. For example, here is a part of Lil Jon's "In Da Club."

"When the bull pimp come man I'm sloppy drunk
I done broke in the club it's the king of crunk
Let the 8-0-8 bang , and the woofers blow
Throw some ass in my lap and I'm good to go"

Posted by: Dagny at May 17, 2006 08:05 PM

Awww... that's awesome!

Posted by: Dorothy B at May 17, 2006 08:48 PM

roy is only asking you to plump up that pillow.

cat's are so hard to understand....

Posted by: kim at May 17, 2006 10:46 PM

Oh my gosh, classic picture!

Posted by: Debbie at May 18, 2006 04:32 AM

Another swag suggestion (or two):

How 'bout a travel mug? I love the mug you've designed but I'm always drinking my "coffee" on the go.

I second the G-rated t-shirt -- not that I'm suggesting you should replace what you have, just give those of us with kids learning to sound out words an option.

Posted by: Rachel at May 18, 2006 06:05 AM

Purl, please give us something involving the ever endearing psycho-gardener. Maybe there's some way to work together knitting and bush-whacking in a pithy philosophical motto.

Posted by: Dana at May 18, 2006 06:32 AM

Roy is so cute I just want to hug and kiss him!

Posted by: Leslie at May 18, 2006 09:02 AM

Well then. I hope to be crunk one day soon LOL.

Can you be crunked out?
Crunkified?
Crunkalicious?
Crunkomatic?

Posted by: laurie at May 18, 2006 09:13 AM

Ha! Yes - you can be crunked out, crunkified, crunkalicious AND crunkomatic.

No word on whether you can be Cronkite-ified, though.

I now feel compelled to Bedazzle a water dish for Roy so that it is properly crunked out.

Posted by: Catherine at May 18, 2006 09:19 AM

Awww, Roy is so cute!! Glad at least Soba is done with her meds!

For the T-shirt suggestions, Cafe Press has Woman's Cap Sleeve T, a Woman's T-Shirt, and a Fitted
T-Shirt that all go up to size 2X or XXL. Would
you ever consider offering one of those with either
one of the patterns you have now or whatever
you decide, for those of us who are ample but
don't like the way we look in guys' tees?

Posted by: Norah at May 18, 2006 12:32 PM

Awwww...

Posted by: Chris at May 18, 2006 01:01 PM

Awww. I'd keep you in bacon, honey. Well, what I didn't eat myself.

Posted by: Carrie K at May 19, 2006 04:27 PM

I need a pimp hat for MY pimp cat! He keeps asking me for one and I can't find one anywhere! Anybody?
