LOST recap! With visual aids!!
Here is a not-very-accurate recap of last night's LOST episode, in which my cats act out a few key scenes. They're such big fans of the show, even though Sobakowa is always yammering on and on about how the HELL does Kate look so fine and perfect when it's been 48 days without a shower or tweezers. She's just being catty. That is her way.
To complement this STUNNING visual re-enactment, might I also suggest a visit to Chase's website, where he provides richly textured stick figure recaplets as well.

You almost want to make me see the damn show now! =) Your cats are excellent actors by the way. And the blue frog did an amazing job as button.

Thanks so much for the recap, Purly, as my local ABC station deemed it more important to show the Red Sox vs. the White Sox in game two for the division title...wahhhhh!
Now I have to wait til Saturday to see LOST.
And the stoopid Red Sox lost anyway.
:-(
Your cats have uncanny resemblances to the characters they represent. It's amazing!

"catty". HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ah, ya slay me, chick! Loved this post.
Posted by: Kat at October 6, 2005 01:23 PM
Oj! (good Swedish expression) I was first! Ok, then I just want to say that I really really enjoy your blog. It's the only blog I have, and ever will, read through all the archived posts to catch up! =)
Posted by: Anna at October 6, 2005 01:24 PM
thanks...I needed that....
Posted by: cheryl at October 6, 2005 01:31 PM
I suppose I'm going to have to start watching this show. Have a missed much or can I just jump right in next week?
Posted by: ~drew emborsky~ at October 6, 2005 01:38 PM
Purly Girl, I don't even watch LOST, but enjoy your comments nonetheless. Thanks!
Posted by: Mavis at October 6, 2005 01:38 PM
I'm not sure I would jump right in...could be confusing...it's sort of Stephen King-ish so missing a little means a lot.
I had to skip right over the text since I still have DVR recordings of the Lost I missed while in Palm Srpings. Will have to read this later!

God Laurie, I was gone for three days and spent hours catching up on your blog! I can't say I enjoyed last night's episode. I was so frustrated with how stupid Kate was being (and was last season). You? Oh and you killed me with your More Cowbell comment. Love that episode of SNL.
Posted by: LeAnne at October 6, 2005 01:54 PM
Fabulous re-enactment. I could have missed the show and between your and chase's recaps I would have been fully caught up!
Posted by: Crystal at October 6, 2005 02:02 PM
OMG! Too funny. Love the re-enactment.
What the hell?! With the baseball. They are also putting Prison Break on hold for three weeks for stupid baseball. I can't wait three weeks!!
Posted by: taral at October 6, 2005 02:05 PM
I was annoyed with all the gratuitous man-crying, and annoyed with Kate, and annoyed with Michael turning into this season's Claire, whose only words for the rest of the season look to be "Dingoes ate my baby!" and/or "Have you seen Walt? ... my son? seen my son?"
Annoyed that STILL! NO! NAKED SAYID!
... but not nearly as mad as I would be if some stupid idiot preempted good TV for sports!! Dude!! That's what they have all those espn channels for!
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2005 02:14 PM
Too funny!!!

Didn't you just love the show last night?? Oh my gosh!! I think the final thing for me was the preview of next week's episode where the Korean dude speaks perfect English....Ooooo!
Maybe my cats (Bert and Felix) can play the "Others." They are just that way you know.
A friend of mine sent me this link to a Sawyer thingy...kind of sticks in your head.

Mary! I totally forgot... oh yeah! Jin speaks perfect English? Is he suddenly a robot? What the hell???
I love this show. I just want a little less man-crying and a little more nakedness. heh.
Posted by: laurie at October 6, 2005 02:30 PM
This is great! Now I don't even need to watch the show! Your cats are better actors anyway! Thanks for checking out my blog today! I'm honored!
Posted by: marissa at October 6, 2005 03:00 PM
Have your cats ever considered theatre?
Posted by: Christina at October 6, 2005 03:59 PM
Laurie, I know we're discussing LOST here but I wanted to ask you about another show. Have you watched the new program "My Name is Earl"? If you have, I'd like to know what you think. If you haven't, then you should make an appointment with your tv (or your TIVO should make an appointment with your tv) for next Tuesday evening. (I think it is at 9:00...my tivo knows.) I was hooked in the second episode when the "daytime prostitude" said the following line:
"I really tried, Earl. At the end, I even pulled out my good boob."
Posted by: Kristy at October 6, 2005 04:09 PM
Ha! I got to see LOST, but rewound my tape of Veronica Mars to find EFFING BASEBALL.
So I share your pain, Mary in Boston.
Except there's no replay of Veronica.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

OMG Earl is to fn funny!
Thank you Laurie for the re-enactment. Since my kids don't go to bed until AFTER lost....and they are little, I can't watch. Now, I know where to go for my lost update. *grin*
My 5 yr old saw the pics of your kitties and is now harping about getting a cat. Um NO! (got a puppy recently).
LOVE your blog BTW!
Posted by: Lynae at October 6, 2005 05:16 PM
There is no way in hell that you could have made that any more funny. priceless.
I had heard from a guy at work that this was the last season of Lost. Now we all know "that talk is cheap when the story is good" (not the right application but fitting all the same), but he has been right on every thing else up to this point. My point with that is to say that if that happens, I may need professional help.
Enough about me,
Thanks for the consumate(sp) entertainment.
David.

You are a HOOT!
[Please tell Sobakowa that I was wondering the same thing myself Wednesday night about the perfectly groomed eyebrows on both Kate and Ana Lucia, but then I remembered that some of the suitcases (and associated toiletry bags with the oh-so-necessary tweezers) survived the crash of flight 815...].
Posted by: Mary at October 6, 2005 06:14 PM
You are too funny! Wonderful reenactment - I don't even watch the show, but I always love your blog. My cats are usually doing replays of "The Weakest Link" and "Who wants to be a Supreme Ruler of the Universe?" to actually keep up with current shows.
Posted by: The Chickengoddess at October 6, 2005 07:55 PM
wonderful reenactments. the kitties are marvelous!
I agree with the man crying, a whiny bunch of boys on that island. But if they're naked... that would be very good. very.

In addition to being hott, Roy is a very versatile actor.
Posted by: Martigny at October 7, 2005 01:12 AM
I have to say you are really confusing me here. We are only on series one in the UK, so I have no idea what you are on about:-)
But it does make me want to see series 2
Posted by: Janine at October 7, 2005 02:28 AM
ROFLMAO! I'd like to put my cat in for a guest spot in a future installment LOL
His glossy publicity photo is here if you want to see his acting credentials LOL

Kristy and Lynae,
OMG! Earl is hilarious...loved last week's episode. The whole premise is just so bizarre!
Jason Lee is one of my favorite actors.

Ok, just one more comment about Lost...I know I posted before but I just thought of this one...
Desmond was so obsessed with the button and typing in the number every 108 minutes. But didn't Shannon see the vision of Walt? And what did Walt say? ''Don't Push the Button; the Button is Bad'' Hummmm.
Posted by: Mary at October 7, 2005 09:22 AM
GAAAAHHH! Both my husband and I were yelling at Jack *not* to push the button, but of course you knew he was going to at the last second.
Locke needs to grow back the mustache he had on Milleneum, when he was Frank Black's boss. Do you suppose he learned about all that supernatual stuff then, and that's why he can take those "leaps of faith" now? How did he go from FBI head honcho to working in a box factory, anyway?!? haha
Posted by: cant_talk_knitting at October 7, 2005 09:31 AM
This last episode of Lost had me so frustrated. I think I enjoyed your cats’ version more.
First of all…that training film DIDN’T EXPLAIN A DAMN THING (not to mention it was obviously shot on video with bad digitized film grain added in post, but that’s beside the point). And does anyone remember a point near the end where it sounds like the dude in the white coat is gonna explain something about the “incident” and why exactly you have to push the damn button and reset the clock every 108 minutes, but there’s a jump-cut edit in the film and we miss what he was gonna say?
And all that “leap of faith” crap? The risk would have been to NOT push the button. We all know what happens when you DO push the button. Nothing! And WTF is going on with Ana Lucia? Sneaky bitch. My current theory: Desmond was put down in the hatch and made to push the button as part of some bizarre psychological experiment. The Korean dude and Ana Lucia are in on it, and all the other Lost crew are part of the experiment now too.
God, I hope next weeks episode has some substance, or I might tear my hair out!

there is a website for the 'hanso foundation' - the creators of the 'dharma initiative'..you should check it out -- http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

There is a secret to the http://www.thehansofoundation.org/
If you just click on active projects and then on the project you get a message that you are not authorized. If you click on active projects...then go to the bottom of the list and move your mouse right below it...you will see a highlight...click it and you will see a small movie.

Oh, in reference to my above listing...I am not a geek.
Posted by: Mary at October 7, 2005 12:13 PM
I don't watch LOST either, but your feline re-enactment makes me wonder what I am missing.
I liked the cute guy they killed at the end of last season. When they did away with him, I figured my only reason for getting a clue about the show was gone.
Great blog! My friend pointed me over here because she thinks we bitch in the same octave. I must say I think she's right.
Keep it up!

Wow, Disney/ABC sure made that legally obligatory “terms of use” link as small and invisible as possible. I’m surprised they can get away with using a “.org” domain name for a phony website.

I am slayed!
Your site is awesome :)

In case you didn't pick up on it, Ana Lucia was the same girl that Jack had the drink with at the airport bar in the flashback (season 1 finale maybe?). So she was definitely on the plane. Don't know what the guys (Adabisi from Oz) story is, or those other people that were on the beach with him. Are they The Others really? Or are they survivors from the other half of the plane. Gone a little savage maybe, a la Lord of the Flies. Hmm!
Posted by: Steve at October 7, 2005 03:29 PM
Maybe.....Ana Lucia wasn't on the plane at all. since we now know that the island is where experiments are going on, and we know that walt was sorta psychic, then maybe there was an intentional bringing down of the plane on the island. Maybe ms lucia didn't really get on the plane, but came later to the island. Maybe the others are the scientists doing the experiments and the survivors are the control group, so to speak.
Jeez,,,, I have got to get a freakin life, talking about a t.v. show on the net. Wait a minute, why would I want a life, then you have to be socialble and nice and all that stuff. Whew,,, i don't feel so bad now.
David.
Posted by: David at October 8, 2005 07:13 AM
I'm 99.9% sure in the flashback where everyones boarding the plane you see her on it.
