P.S. I love Arkansas!

I didn't mean to insult the Arkansas folks. I LOVE the South ya'll know that. My Uncle Truman still thinks Little Rock is the best city on earth (he lived there for 22 years.) Even though the south is filled up with red states, I still love them all. And their cousins, too ;)

it's ok. because you're from the south, you can make arkansas jokes.

it's like i tell joe...i can make jokes about my mother. he can't.

Awww, I sure didn't mean to make you feel bad. Hell, the hat challenge is enough to do that, with no added help from moi!

My first hat attempt was comical in retrospect but at the time it was a very serious matter and yes, the math kicked my ass as always!

HA! Red states! I just inhaled coffee!

The one (and possibly the only) thing I am most excited about re: moving to Michigan from Austin is that I am moving back to a blue state! Yay! A blue state! And one that's right next to Canadia, just in case!

*Most* Arkansas folks are good. The ones that just came up to Boston to protest the Holocaust memorial day and declare the Holocaust a lie? Not so good.

You could be okay with that hat. Sometimes I knit a few rows (like 7) and then put the stitches on another piece of yarn, and stretch it over my head to see if it is working. That way I don't make the whole damn thing and then find out that it is too small. I have an enormous head, and proper sizing is important.

Hi, it's me, Beth, your stalker in Kansas. I just had to comment on your Arkansas thing . . my parents used to live there (not natives, moved there to retire) and my brother SWEARS that one day they were antique shopping and a woman/girl said hi to him and then said "that my sister, she's my mama". Hmmmm kinda goes with your cousin neighbors huh????

Teen knitting Club is such a good book! I love how the patterns are written, I can actually understand them!

by the way, maine is the arkansas of the north.

Okay, you are forgiven! I knew you, a nice southern gal, didn't mean to be insulting. But don't most Yankee's think ALL of the south is imbred? I guess that's why I'm defensive! ;-)

Well, thank you. You know we Arkansawyers are a little defensive, because we have heard all those jokes so many times. Both my daughters live out of state, and they tell me that the FIRST thing people say when they learn that you are from Arkansas is something about incest. This leaves a girl with a certain touchiness. You are kind to cater to it.

About the teen book, I just checked out several "kids can knit" books from the library, and they are so much easier to understand, they don't assume you already know what you are doing, and they have colorful pictures and diagrams, not to mention great projects to do for your kids, toys, dolls and such...
